I’m with you. It was delivered terribly.

People here are just as incapable of being objective about him as the left are in the opposite sense.

He was speaking way too fast and frankly, I thought he needed to clear his throat or cough the entire time, which needless to say, would not have been a good optic.

It wasn’t the time to tout the economy or blame the virus on China. We all know where it came from. That - once again - makes him look juvenile and petty. That should have been nothing be reassurance and planning. It shouldn’t have been a quasi stump speech.

I don’t need to be comforted by any President, but if that’s what people were looking for, they got none of it. And by seeming, I don’t know, indifferent? to the whole issue, he makes it easy for the left to attack him.

I watched a different address than the one you saw. But then again you and pp saw what you wanted to see. This event is unprecedented in the history of this nation. What did you want.? As always the people of the United States of America will be the ones to get the country through this despite what the politicians do.

I understand you comments. Trump has approached life from a point of exuding confidence. He will not agonize over every word and nuance in the fashion of seasoned politicians. And I would be lying if I denied that I often have to cringe at some of his comments and his approach.

In times past, a confident manner served FDR well in dark times; but he did not have a pack of opposition party jackals at his heels every minute of everyday. There is, however, for me a saving grace with respect to Trump--he will work his a$$ off to attack this latest crisis and won't be wasting time pouring oily platitudes over emotional members of the public who will always be suckers for crap like "I feel your pain."

Utter NONSENSE!

He was trying to calm a panicked (by the media) populous and a panicked market.

The death to FEAR is not from the Corona Virus, its the death of our economy that we should fear.

The Corona Virus is OVERBLOWN, he can’t say that. The Corona Virus is spreading and KILLING PEOPLE, he can’t dwell on that.

“Because you can’t handle the truth!”

If people want to be scared, they should be scared of the FLU not the Corona Virus or any other cause since the number of deaths per year, in the USA, from all causes is, 635,260. Six HUNDRED THOUSAND!

“Perspective”, its a thing. Just like “irrational fear” is a thing.

I saw a statistic once about how a large percentage of people that fall and break a hip only live about two more years.

The conclusion was that breaking a hip lead to an early death.

NOT! It was because most people who fall and break their hip are OLD!

Like Arianna Huffington said “the plane was going there anyway”.

Well these people were “going there anyway”.

The average age of people dying from the Corona Virus is 80. Many of these people were “going there anyway”.

RE: I’m with you. It was delivered terribly.

So, your objection is in the delivery.

What about the STEPS taken? The CONTENT of his speech?

Any objections to what he said instead of how he said it?
