Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren dropped out of the 2020 presidential race Thursday, ending a once front-running bid that never achieved its sky-high potential once voting actually began.
Answering the "what happened" question is never a simple thing. Voters make up their minds for lots of different reasons -- some of which they are willing to articulate and some they simply won't. But generally speaking, there seem to be three reasons why Warren didn't get to where she wanted to go.
1) She peaked too soon: If the Iowa caucuses were October 3, Warren could have won going away. National polling around that time captures Warren's summer and early fall surge.
2) She tried to be more than just a liberal: Voters in the two lanes of the Democratic Party have now coalesced around Biden in the center and Sanders on the left.
3) Sexism: This is an indisputable fact: We have had 44 presidents and not one of them has been a woman. Coincidence? Probably not. How much did the fact that Warren is a woman and ran on an unapologetically feminist platform for president affect the outcome? It's almost impossible to know, but it's equally impossible to think it had no role in how voters perceived her.
Asked about the role her gender played in the race on Thursday, Warren responded this way:
"That is the trap question for every woman. If you say yeah, there was sexism in this race, everyone says, 'Whiner.' And if you say no, there was no sexism, about a bazillion women think, 'What planet do you live on?'"
She added that she would "have a lot more to say on that subject later on."

She never once, in her whole life, ever told the truth about anything.
Even the lying liars demorat party found that irritating.
No matter big or small, easy or hard, got the same awful crazy ranting shrill tone, a cross between a banshee and a Jewish princess whine. It was horrible to listen to and never in proportional balance with the topic of the moment being discussed.

Don’t women usually accuse men of that?
Why didn’t Elizabeth Warren do better?
WhoTF wants to look at or listen to the worst teacher/librarian/DMV drone/ mother in law more then they have to?
Id argue shes more of a Massingil than Hillary. Thats bad.
Now shell be just another politician from Massholestan that will never be POTUS.
Psychojawea will shriek no more forever.
Bury her campaign at DNA’d me.
LOL, yes indeed.
“Her attempts to seem down to earth were stiff and entirely phony.”
“I think I’m gonna get me, uhm, a beer.” (That’s where I clicked away. Gad! How amazingly inauthentic.)
Warren didn’t even win the female vote in Massachusetts.

Nobody likes a liar and a nag.
Because she’s an angry attack dog.
People don’t want to be screeched and screamed at for 4 years.
She ran for reelection of her Senate seat with the promise she wouldn’t abandon it to run for president. Then after being reelected, she announced she was running for president. She lies as easily as breathing.
It didn’t help that Warren had that issue with that claim of Native American blood....
Feminism is a form of identity politics, and any thinking person knows this. People who subscribe to identity politics are intellectually and morally bankrupt.
Even people (including men, and intelligent women) see that Feminism is a crutch for people who have weak values, and even more of a crutch for people who can't rub two brain cells together and conjure up an original or cogent thought.
That's all it is. While there are plenty of men (myself included) who would vote for a woman, we simply aren't going to vote for someone who accuses us of sexism simply because they are a crappy, unlikeable candidate who hasn't any original ideas.
I can’t tell-is that real? Did Warren really act like that in the debate???? I thought it was an SNL sketch.
