I honestly think Biden is their only shot. Sanders is a sure fire loss. Everyone else is no longer a contender.

My pet theory still holds:
None of the candidates, besides Bernie, want the nomination - lest they get destroyed by Trump, wrecking future political career.
Bernie doesn’t expect to win, is ready to retire, and this is his last chance to get the biggest stage he’ll ever have.
In need of SOMEONE to play nominee, candidates are throwing their support behind Biden, who has no political future to lose. He’ll go thru the motions (himself, or via puppeteers), be lauded for a spirited attempt, and be shown the door (to a cognitive-care nursing home) November 4th.

The other half you haven’t seen yet, is they aren’t just throwing this fall, their intent was to throw this fall with a leftist, to knee cap the far left wing of the party...
I Believe their plan was to Take out Biden with the impeachment and get Warren (who was actually leading polls at that point)...
However they appear to have overestimated Warren and Underestimated Bernie.
Their plan was take out Biden, get warren as the nominee, get crushed and then use it to knee cap the far left of the party and moderate for 2024.... when they might actually have a shot at winning.
Bernie however appears to thrown a wrench into their plans... I Still believe the party big wigs know they have to moderate, and have to knee cap the far left if they ever want to win a national election and state wide races again.....
But Bernie wasn’t their planned player... he’ll definitely do far worse with the down ballot races than Warren... So if he winds up the nominee they will get crushed... but the damage will be far more than they planned, as it will almost certainly give the house back to Republicans and give them a few more Senate Seats as well...
So now they are in a rock and a hard place... Let Bernie be the nominee and knee cap the left, but the price will be far higher than just losing the White House, it will cause them huge losses in the house and Senate... of Bail on their plan and force Joe into the nomination and deal with the fact the far left will still have more power next cycle, but they won’t be in such a bad position in congress.
These factions are fighting this out now.... The entire Impeachment was part of this plan.. as was Pelosi’s little tantrum at the SOTU...
Problem is Warren was weaker than they though and Bernie stronger...
The dems need another bammy. Someone who pretends to be a “committed Christian,” to love this country and to love Whites but really goes to work for our sworn enemies and to promote *slam, which promises to eliminate Christianity. Someone who destroys the economy.

Rush just figured this out? Who didn’t know that the Dems were going to try to use Biden to stop Sanders? It’s been anybody-but-Bernie since the get-go for the Dem party establishment.
The plan is to pick up delegates for the contested convention, and Biden doesn’t plan on them going to Biden. Instead they will go to someone not running who the Obama wing of the DNC establishment wants.

But....what if Biden DOESN’T lose to Donald J. Trump in the general election in November? Assume there is enough fraud, deceit, chicanery and calumny so a few very critical states tip in the balance, and Biden ekes out an electoral college win.
We must not lose an election by inches. Every Republican out there running for a House seat, and those in the Senate who up for election this year, as well as Team Trump, has to be running like they are 10 points behind, by getting a positive message out there, by getting out the mailings and the face time in their districts, by aggressively addressing all the “dirty tricks” as they come up in the campaign, and getting out the vote among known supporters.
Remember the pledges to “crawl for miles over broken glass to get to the polls to vote”. There is just lots and lots of broken glass out there.
Just as in 1996, the opposing party to an incumbent president running for re-election tries to play it safe. The difference is that Bob Dole’s closest primary opponent was Pat Buchanan, who didn’t threaten to burn down the party if he didn’t get the nomination. I don’t see a scenario for the Democrats where this doesn’t spiral out of control.
