There were a few treatments of cancer with IV after IV of vitamin C.
The people actually did very well.
Seems to me Lefty Ed Asner did a made for TV movie 30+ years ago about treating a disease / malody with high doses of Vit C. that Doctors at the time scoffed at. True story of sorts.
