The United States would not be able to care for its millions of veterans if it becomes a socialist country, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) secretary cautioned Breitbart News at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Saturday.
Asked to make the case against socialism during an edition of Breitbart News Saturday, airing on SiriusXM 125, at the 2020 CPAC event, VA Secretary Robert Wilkie warned host and Washington Political Editor Matthew Boyle:
If America were suddenly to descend into a socialists State, that promise [to take care of our veterans that [Abraham] Lincoln made [when he created the department] 150 years ago is wiped out. Theres no longer any care for veterans.
An incredibly high percentage of our warriors are with missing limbs.

I think Rush explained it best: all the dems have the same policies, only bernie has the balls to talk honestly about those policies. These ideas line up with what we used to call communism during the cold war.

Care is already disappearing for our Veterans.
Hackensack Meridian Hospitals in NJ are no longer accepting the VA community care (used to be choice) as payment.
Someone from your administration should look into why this is.
With choice many providers were not being paid and the VA's claim service was a nightmare.
Are they doing the same thing with a new name?
I'm not exaggerating when I tell you this is hurting the Veterans.
They're running out of choices again.

We are all losing medical options due to ObamaCare (de facto socialized medicine), and VA patients are just hearing what others have dealt with for years. Rationing has arrived, coupled with providers dropping out of segments due to lack of profitability.

Veterans are NOT just hearing this now.
They have been treated this way for years, even before obamacare...
To: donaldtrump
Of course if you have medicaid no problem go to any hospital they’ll take you...
To: novemberslady
I see; then I don’t understand the headline.

no I took issue with your statement (below) about Veterans.
VA patients are just hearing what others have dealt with for years
To: novemberslady
Oh, that’s because we’d all be losing care - just as we all have been for years (mainly since ObamaCare).

Sorry to hear you are having problems with ‘Community Care.’ I’ve benefited from the new ‘Mission Act.’ Perhaps a VSO is in order? They help cut through the red tape.

Thank you very much
I'm not having the problem.
Some VSO's are excellent, but some like the VSO a Veteran I helped are truly bad.
The VA choice program and Community Care programs are Godsends, but only for as long as the VA pays their bills.
Providers are fleeing the VA
To: novemberslady
The best thing the VA could do is issue every VET a VA insurance card, let the VET go to any hospital or clinic they choose and then shut the damn doors. What an incredible waste of money it’s become.

Might one list the Democratic Republics? It is as an eyesore... but those afflicted with it cannot see.

They are never going to be a partner in democracy. They are literally enemy of the state wherever they exist in opposition to freedom.

The VA should at least pick up the balance for medical care given privately for any 100% Total and Permanently disabled Veteran.
And if the Veteran has Medicare part B, the VA should pick up anything including outside prescriptions not covered.
There is already socialism in this country- and the VA is an administrator who gets decide who will get what.
To: novemberslady
The VA has become an unneeded in between for our VET’s and their much needed healthcare, they’re doing more damage than they do good. 3 members of my immediate family y have retired from the Federal Government, two of those from the VA. My wife will soon be retiring from the VA also, she’s a nurse. I’ve been doing some work with their Rehab program as a an old VET and a civilian. This particular program has been a total joke and I no longer support it, it’s been designed to fail.
