A person has died in Washington state of COVID-19, state health officials said Saturday, marking the first such reported death in the United States.
State officials issued a terse news release announcing the death, gave no details and scheduled a news conference.
Health officials in California, Oregon and Washington state worried about the novel coronavirus spreading through West Coast communities after confirming three patients were infected by unknown means.
The patients — an older Northern California woman with chronic health conditions, a high school student in Everett, Washington and an employee at a Portland, Oregon-area school — hadn’t recently traveled overseas or had any known close contact with a traveler or an infected person, authorities said.

The virus is NOT new. Newly used to cause more harm, but not new.
It is listed on the Lysol can, which I am sure was not printed last week.
Sad. But not shocked. More people than that die of flu related complications.

My guess is that it was the woman with health problems. If so why don’t they just say that instead of fanning the panic.

When I first saw the story of the infected woman in Bellevue last night, I was surprised she was from Korea instead of China.
Tacoma has a huge Korean population, just drive down South Tacoma Way and try to read the store signs.
Coronaviruses are not new. This coronavirus is new. As was SARS and MERS in the past. The human coronaviruses referred to on the Lysol can are 229E, NL63, OC43, and HKU1.
Corona Viruses are a category of viruses. It’s kind of like calling a Virus a car. A Cononavirus is a brand (Ford, Chevy, GM) The COVID-19 is like the model (Mustang, Explorer, Camaro.)
They refer to this virus as “novel” because they’ve never seen this strain.
Not lecturing...just trying to explain.
And yeah, Lysol would probably wreck it’s day.

If not, I imagine the FDA is going to want to change that.
The new virus, and the one on the lysol can, are relatives. The new one is NOT the same one that causes the ‘common cold’.
SARS and MERS are also coronaviruses.
The coronavirus family has many members, some of which infect humans.

We are not getting the real details about the people coming down with this virus. My guess they are illegal or have an illegal in their household who has it.
The ‘common cold’ coronavirus is like the sweet sicilian grandmother that lives next door & treats you to home cooked food from time to time.
The new coronavirus is like her mob connected grandson who would whack you for looking at him the wrong way.
But, but, but...this time is different!! This time everyone is surely going to Die!! Just you wait, you can’t prove it wrong...
And if it’s not this time, in 2-3 yrs a new health media driven scare will start and then, yes then...everyone will surely die, die...
And if not that time...
