Trump urges South Carolina Republicans to vote for Bernie Sanders

President Trump is urging Republicans to vote in South Carolina’s Democratic primary on Saturday for the weakest candidate — determining that is Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Trump, hosting a rally in South Carolina on Friday night, asked his crowd to help him pick the recipient of GOP votes in the “open” primary.

“I assume this is okay from a campaign finance standpoint,” Trump joked before carrying out his “poll” on the eve of the primary election.

He asked audience members to cheer for the Democrat they’d prefer be his easiest-to-beat opponent — Sanders or former Vice President Joe Biden.

“I think maybe Crazy Bernie has it,” Trump said.

Asking one more time for his supporters to cheer for either former vice president Biden or Sanders, Trump confirmed: “They think Bernie’s easier to beat.”

I find the energy seen at Sander’s rallies to be troublesome.....

Some of the energy-----and the attendance numbers----- at Bernie's rallies are generated by rock bands he hires just for those purposes.

Agreed----Biden is truly the lamer candidate but Bernie would be easiest to beat-----due to his ultra-cockamamie ideas.

BAD, Bad move.

I think we are all underestimating the hate and ignorance that the establishment have generated.

Bernie is a REAL threat, to the President and to America.

Voting for Mini Mike and forcing a brokered convention is the best result. Bernie is almost assured the plurality of the delegates and then his thugs will burn the Democrat party down when he is denied the nomination.

Make them expose themselves on both fronts.

Bloomberg is not on the ballot in SC.

But your point is taken, Republicans in open primary states which Bernie is going to easily win anyway should probably vote for Bloomberg.

Why switch your party registration back? Why not just poll watch as a Demonrat and take the place of a poll watcher who would allow cheating?

“The leftists have had 50 years to indoctrinate kids in public schools and universities. The energy I see at Sander’s rallies I find troublesome.”

Me too. And, with the upcoming generations of indoctrinated youths not far behind...if they don’t swing the vote to a Socialist this time around, it’ll happen soon enough. We’re at a tipping point for this country and I don’t see how Conservatives prevent it from happening. The really bad news...these little socialists mushheads will be the ones pushing us around in wheelchairs at the old folks homes...

I heard someone on the radio say they already had a 500 page opposition research book on Sanders. She was from a conservative think tank. I’d think the Republican party has far more dirt on that corrupt old commie

I also like the idea because I am opposed to open primaries. This has been promoted by the Democrats. Okay, you want open primaries? Now SUFFER the consequences! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

RE: Republicans in open primary states which Bernie is going to easily win anyway should probably vote for Bloomberg.

I have to disagree. If you believe that Bernie is the one who is easiest to beat, then voting Bernie is the ONLY thing that makes sense.(DJT agrees!) Bernie can probably only win if he gets enough delegates to get it on the first ballot.
.
I think Bernie fans are so rabid that they won’t sit out even if Bernie gets screwed.brokered convention is a wild card. 50% chance they would come out with a stronger candidate and avoid alienating anyone’s base.

Some noob who shows up a decade after I, calling me an imposter, that’s rich.

So what’s actually going on is that GOP units often require something called a “statement of intent”. You can see an example here: https://virginia.gop/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/2020-PRE-FILING-FORM-FINAL.pdf

If you sign that, and then vote in the Dem primary, you are ineligible for participation in the unit for four years.

So before you swear to false accusations, please do your research next time. What I am telling you is rather fundamental to how party politics works. And it’s much more important for you to be involved in helping the GOP than casting a spite vote in the D primaries. Much more.

If your Mass Meeting hasn’t happened yet, you need to sign up for it NOW, filing as a CD and state delegate as well. https://virginiaproject.com/resources-county-conventions-2020

“” “” , I would not encourage this at all. True, President Trump has better instincts than I ever will, but he also has far more faith in the American people than I do. “” “”

Let’s see at it from another angle. The very fact that Trump was elected means the collapse of the corrupt political establishment and particularly Republican party dominated by the likes of Romney, McCain and company.
Democrats at least could blame it on Hillary.
If Bernie gets a nomination it’s a total meltdown. He is basically a lefty version of Trump. Non-establishment and let’s be honest non-Democrat either.
To build some worthy new something you need to clean the rot first.
And no, Bernie has no chance against Trump anyway.

Better to make Bernie the face of the Dem Party. We will see how far America has gone down the socialist/communist path.

I voted for Bernie this morning knowing that Biden will win SC easily. I want Bernie to finish a respectable second. He will not have the 1991 delegates necessary to win the nomination. The Dems thru their 500 superdelegates that come in play during the second round of the nomination process will be faced with some hard choices. Thwart Bernie and risk alienating the most rabid and energetic wing of the party or select a "moderate" who will be less extreme outwardly and preserve some sort of cover for the at risk Dem House and Senate candidates.

The Dems made a fatal error of front-loading their primaries with 40% of the delegates being selected by Super Tuesday, March 3. Bernie's opponents don't have to time to mobilize an effective opposition, including winnowing down the field. Couple this with the fact that proportional allocation of delegates in all states will stop anyone from amassing more delegates than Bernie who will finish first or second in the overwhelming majority of states.

I don't regret my vote for Bernie in SC. It sows the increasing chaos in the Dem party.

Hanover County Republican Committee Mass Meeting

Thursday, April 9, 2020

You got almost a month to prefile, your county is late in the schedule, almost immediately before the CD conventions.

If you do not go to these meetings and conventions you are not being serious about fixing Virginia. Do this. Now.

SC canceled its Rep primary. VA doesn't have registration by party. Having lived in VA for 36 years prior to moving to SC in 2015, there is plenty of history as to why the VA GOP is trying to crack down on members with political aspirations within the GOP who have a history of voting in Dem primaries.

VA is gone politically now becoming solid blue thanks to mass immigration and domestic migration from the Northeast to the area around the honey pot of DC. Whatever measures the GOP takes now to instill party loyalty is just closing the barn door after the horses got out.

Either go to your GOP unit conventions or get the hell out of the way of people who are trying to save the state.

Those are your options. If you want to vote Democrat that’s your right, but it’s objectively stupid.

I was a delegate to GOP state conventions many times. I was active in Fairfax County GOP politics as a member of the FCRC. I was a poll watcher and election officer.

The VA GOP RINOs lost my respect when they got rid of Jeff Frederick as the state GOP Chairman. The failure of the GOP establishment to support Ken Cuccinelli cost him the governorship.

There is no new day for the GOP in VA, which is increasingly becoming a deeper shade of blue. NoVA could be a replica of SF or LA in terms of political transformation. The liberals are in the process of destroying the state. You either lack knowledge of what is happening in VA or you are delusional.

I have been around the block with RPV enough times to know the score.

I am fixing the problem. I established a VA state PAC for this purpose. You can see precisely what the agenda is here: https://virginiaproject.com/

If you’re going to give up hope and just complain, then step off and get out of the way. This is being done whether or not you think it’s delusional. I am already in direct contact with a large number of GOP activists and unit chairmen throughout the state and there is broad agreement that this needs to be done.
