Parts of Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam's sweeping gun control legislation have won final passage in the General Assembly.

Lawmakers in the House and Senate gave final passage to several pieces of gun control legislation Friday. That includes a red flag bill to allow authorities to temporarily take guns away from people deemed to be dangerous to themselves or others, and legislation giving local governments more authority to ban guns in public places.

In California, laws passed by the people are routinely overruled by the courts. Is that an option here?

That’s EXACTLY what I want! A mentally unstable cop making the decision on who and who shouldn’t have or not have a gun.

The red flag laws may lead to a temporary loss of firearms, but if anyone in my life reported me that would lead to a permanent end to our relationship.

Disgusting. Virginia’s new motto: “Virginia is for Fascists”. Great....,just great. As criminal and race-monger al sharpton once said “Resist we much...”

It will be nice when the federal house of representatives becomes Republican again after stunts like this in various “blue” states turn the public against Democrats.

Well done Democrats, I can’t wait to see who and how you nominate your Presidential candidate and the message it will send to the electorate. I look forward to Trump’s long coat tails along with stupid local Democratic Party decisions in causing a Republican November election landslide. That relegates Democrats to the back benches at the federal level.

As a side note to this thread, please consider the following.

"In California, laws passed by the people [emphasis added] are routinely overruled by the courts. Is that an option here?"

"10th Amendment: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people [emphasis added]."

So what happened to the 10th Amendment (10A)-protected power of the people?

Regarding post-FDR era state sovereignty-ignoring activist judges and justices who blatantly ignore the 10A-protected power of the people, please consider the following.

Using inappropriate words like “concept” and “implicit,” the excerpt below from Wickard v. Filburn (Wickard) shows what was left of the defense of 10A-protected state sovereignty by the last of state sovereignty-respecting majority justices in United States v. Butler, FDR’s state sovereignty-ignoring activist justices later blatantly ignoring the reasonable Butler interpretation of 10A when they scandalously decided Wickard in Congress’s favor imo.

Remember in November!

MAGA, now KAGA! (Keep America Great Always!)

Supporting PDJT with a new patriot Congress that will promise to fully support his already excellent work for MAGA will effectively give fast-working Trump a third term in office imo.

The chances of getting your guns back IN WORKING ORDER are nil.

Without court review, the people should pass a law allowing the temporary taking away of someone’s right to write whatever they wish, or cast a ballot. 30 days or so later, a court could review, maybe, if such a restriction should be continued for up to 2 years, or if such a restriction should have future reviews and extensions.

Then copy/paste exactly what the state uses to quash that law, replace whatever right the people decided to use as an example with guns, and submit it to a court.

Come on, liberals, let’s dance.

#5. Soros put in a million dollars or more to “buy” two Virginia County “Commonwealth Attorneys”, in Arlington and Fairfax. Arlington had a good CA, Stamos, who didn’t play politics. The new girl is nothing but politics but is keeping a low profile so far. Fairfax County CA is also nothing but politics, but may face rising opposition from the smaller but active conservative/gun rights people of all political positions.

What proximity of relationship is required to rat on someone? I’m sure advataged elite drones such as public school and public health workers will be given higher priority.

“Lawmakers also approved legislation requiring gun owners to report lost or stolen guns to police...”

So this combined with universal background checks, which will be passed soon, is basically registration, right? Do they record and follow the gun when you run a back ground check on private sales or what? Anyone know how it works in other states?

Freegards

Virginia’s Dem governor, Lt Gov, Attorney General, many Senators and Assemblymen strike me as insane and dangerous. They can’t even read the 2nd Amendment. Better report them for special red flag attention.

"red flag bill to allow authorities to temporarily take guns away from people deemed to be dangerous to themselves or others,"

If that's a done deal for now in your state, don't do drugs, don't feed more than one or two cats, and don't get with a wild woman. The red flag laws will hurt Democrats more than conservatives.
