The coronavirus could be up to 1,000 times more infectious than SARS because it plagues the body in the same way as HIV and Ebola, scientists warn.

Experts initially presumed the spread of COVID-19 would follow the same trajectory as the SARS outbreak in 2002/3, because the viruses are almost identical genetically.

I caught a bug after Thanksgiving that was unlike anything I’ve ever had before. Hung on for six full weeks and produced phlegm unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I never have a virus hang-on that long. Do you think I had this?

I have not traveled out of the country in over 25 yrs. so it would be a mystery to me.

They will use Chinese numbers to ‘prove’ a high death rate then attack you when you attempt to use the very same numbers they cite.

Yes they’ll quickly cite a Chinese scientist as well, if it props up their extremely doomer position. It is exactly like arguing with a climate change zealot.

"This virus most readily infects and is most lethal to Asians. Hence it is not likely that there will be a general outbreak in the United States but disease can be expected where there are concentrations of Asians."

Interesting - I don't want to sound bigoted but I was wondering how many deaths involved non-ethnic Asians vs. Asians (i.e. whites, blacks vs. east Asians). I can't find a breakdown anywhere.

I recently read a tweet from an Ivy League virologist who suspects she was possibly infected during a November trip to Asia. The symptoms were exactly as those described for Covid19. She is planning to conduct an antibody test on herself to see. Pretty interesting.

It would not surprise me one bit if this has been circulating around China (and Asia in general) for much longer that we have been told. We’ll see....

I’ve sought the same with zip zero results....I suspect they’re not saying because it would apppear as racial profiling.

I also tend to think the one case in CA. they can’t tie to anyone she was in contact with is likely because she does not want that person or persons known.

These guys in 1942 would have been insufferable with U-boats off one coast, Pear Harbor bombed, Asia and Europe falling to the Axis in an almost unstoppable pace.

Wouldn’t Natzi Pelosi’s district be a contributing factor in the spread of the virus in California?

Or in spite of the infectiousness of the virus most persons have (a) healthy immune systems that are able to fight the virus, and/or (b) persons lacking some genetic deficiency, a deficiency that makes fighting the virus more difficult, and/or (c) immune systems that can handle the infection without the person becoming sick. However if, and whenever (c) is true, such persons though never ill could be carriers able to infect persons who have immune system responses that do not protect them from the virus.

It is a basic sound scientific necessity to study population genetics when evaluating any pathogen and its pattern of spread. However today it is politically incorrect to consider racial differences in almost any situation. Also considering genetic differences and susceptibilities in population groups runs diametrically opposed to the current WHO globalist narrative. Even scientists and physicians fear being labeled “racists” by doing basic science and reporting facts. However ultimately the facts are what they are even if they are not palatable to some. The fact is that Asians are far more likely to become infected and have a higher mortality rate from COVID-19 than Caucasians and Africans.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have just a single stand alone thread on stats and areas of people having this virus for just the US?......all these other nations and their issues just hype it up here and the opinions are a dime a dozen.

Hmmm. Someone at work speculated that this was China’s way of culling the herd. I hadn’t heard that before.

As far as we can tell right now. Perhaps next year we'll have more certainty?

There is another wrinkle to this issue in rural america. If the virus turns out to be somewhat worse than the regular flu and hospital beds fill up. A whole bunch of rural communities have lost their local hospitals , closed due to economics. I’m sure they will just suffer and die without complaining. What is the plan for dealing with sick people far from hospital facilities.
