How Can Bernie Sanders Happen in America?
Two words: PUBLIC EDUCATION.
We need an amendment to the Constitution banning all forms of communism,socialism and collective philosophies. Short of that another Revolution is needed with armed conflict. The left isn’t going to stop until they crush us. So let’s party.
The same way a Michael Foot or Jeremy Corbyn could lead the opposition in the UK.
Let sanders be! He will be annihilated, just like Foot and Corbyn.
40+ years of PC pandering, not saying the words “ socialist” and “communist” over that time and longer
That’s just for starters. Feel free to add while you still have some freedom left

That’s the way it was at my college in the early 80’s. I was already reading National Review at 18 and knew better, but the argument went totally unquestioned among my peers. Who are now in their 50’s and like their 401(k) balances...but probably still believe it.
America should have flung Bernie Sanders out of political life long ago - only the products of government miseducation have kept him on stage.
The Public School System has been dutifully laying the groundwork for this country to go socialist for over thirty years.
Even small details, like the free school lunch program. Flash forward a couple of decades and you wind up with THIS conversation.
Parent: There IS NO SUCH THING as a FREE LUNCH!
Millenial: Whaddya mean? I ate a free lunch every day for twelve years.
We should have been reacting a couple of decades ago. I fear now it is too late. Winston Churchill was right. We’ll do the right thing after we’ve tried this alternative.
My theory: Bernie Sanders has charisma. He’s like your rebellious old uncle, the one who would encourage you to skip school and go fishing with him. Folks are willing to overlook Bernie’s truly awful views because of that.
You and I are in total agreement on Alinsky and Zinn.
Throw Bill Ayers into that mix (he was basically writing public school curriculum in this country for a couple of decades).
The three most destructive Americans who were never elected to anything IMHO.
I talk to Millenials every day. Lots and lots of them. It’s my job.
Hate to bust your bubble, but no.....the vast majority of them really like his views.
Until Bloomberg mentioned communism in the Nevada debate, when have you heard ANY public figure say that word.

Repeat as often as necessary: PUBLIC EDUCATION and add: The UNIVERSITIES. No history is taught. No Civics is taught. No Geography. No Grammar. No Literature. No Et Cetera. We have generation after generation who know nothing but Smartphone.

Simple reason.
Too soon did we abandon the institution of tar and feather.
The founders thought we would always have it with us.
Bring it back. After a few applications, we would see a much reduced set of idiots trying to divest America of its Constitutional Liberty.
Let’s say that someone dull and humorless - like Michael Bloomberg for example - would take the line Bernie takes. Would the Millennials still flock to him? I don’t know. Your opinion?
Actually, this isn’t a public school problem. It’s manifest by the democrats, but the problem began AFTER the US Constitution was written.
James Madison described the problem this way:
The right of suffrage is a fundamental Article in Republican Constitutions. The regulation of it is, at the same time, a task of peculiar delicacy. Allow the right [to vote] exclusively to property [owners], and the rights of persons may be oppressed... . Extend it equally to all, and the rights of property [owners] ...may be overruled by a majority without property....
Point is, by the US Constitution and founding fathers, you had to OWN property to be eligible to vote for a reason. Without this, you can VOTE yourself money and other peoples goods/services. When people who don’t pay into the Federal government in TAXES are allowed to vote for Federal government candidates, we have a problem.
Now...49% of Americans DON’T pay Federal income taxes. The way to make the Republic work is to make the INELIGIBLE to vote. Problem fixed.
Millions of people in America that aren’t American.
Bingo!
The trick is to put the big rock in the jar before adding the small rocks.
But who is doing that in the matter of resisting our nation's exponentially creeping socialism?
And BTW, not just public education has been corrupted. Private education is way ahead of public education in terms of indoctrination, particularly at the university level.
