Now, without knowing the actual infection pool or rate this is something that can spread geometrically. Its airborne and if it is in homeless camps or larger communities this will spread in either case. I think the homeless scenario is the more concerning one. There already communities with people in health distress and in some there are diseases present. I can see this getting out of hand very fast in these cities. It will be a political and medical mess.

The other thought is what if this thing mutates again. It just needs time and a bunch of hosts.

I have a few nightmare scenarios in my head.

What happens if the virus starts rampaging through the homeless communities?

I was in Portland a couple weeks ago and the homeless there seemed like they were all sick. Coughing, spitting and snot-rocketing on the sidewalks. Those cities which tolerate rampant homelessness already have various nasty bugs going around.
