As the Democratic Party primary field lurches to the left on a number of policy issues, it is being reflected among Democratic voters -- with three in four Democrats saying they would back a socialist for president, according to a new poll released this month.
The Gallup poll found that 76 percent of Democratic voters would vote for a socialist. Only 17 percent of Republicans say they would vote for a socialist, and 45 percent of independents would vote for one.
The poll comes amid the rise of self-described “democratic socialist” Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., in the Democratic presidential primary race. The far-left candidate tied with the more moderate former South Bend, Ind. Mayor Pete Buttigieg in Iowa, and won the New Hampshire primary and Nevada caucuses -- boosting him into front-runner status.

So 25% of Democrats would not. Add that to 95% of Republicans and 75% of independents who would not and you have a HUGE ass kicking for Democrats in November.
My brothers, both older than me, both boomers, are all in for socialism. I’m pretty sure, they’d be ok with communism. They are decent hard working guys who have made a decent financial situation for themselves. I think the genesis of their support for socialism is their children. The kids, by and large are underachievers. Somehow, my brothers have come to the conclusion that it’s big business and Republicans in concert who are keeping their kids down.
It is a situation I could never have imagined, but makes me understand that there is a strong base for this garbage.

Bernie IS them. He is not an outlier. The MSM just needs to accept that the Democrats have become the New Red Front and get with the program. :)
You could not be more right. I am surprised so many here cannot see through this story for its absurdity. This is terrible news for the Democrats.

Milwaukee had Socialist Mayors for 38 years in the 20th century, including the 12 years that I lived there.

(0.17 x 0.3) + (0.45 x 0.4) + (0.75 x 0.3) = 0.456
So 45.6% of the electorate would vote for a Socialist. That is way too close for comfort.
Did I do the math right? That seems way too high.
Heck, compared to Comrade Sanders, Adolf was more moderate.
