There's nothing unusual about it.

Well, I think there is. I think it's unusual in this environment to rebuff Trump. I also think it's unusual that Kemp not explain his pick. It's certainly not required, but it is unusual in this razor-thin majority, fight to death environment.

I wish Kemp would explain his reasons. He hasn't done so to my knowledge. Financing would be a valid reason - hell, any reason would be helpful to all three of them.

I think it would be MORE unusual for a governor to explain his pick publicly -- beyond the usual "he/she will do a great job representing this state in the Senate" tripe.

I'm sure the rationale for his appointment has been given to President Trump.
