U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders has widened his lead for the Democratic presidential nomination and overtaken Joe Biden in support among African Americans - a voting bloc that until now has largely favored the former vice president, according to a Reuters/Ipsos national poll released on Tuesday.
Among all registered Democrats and independents, 26% said they would vote for Sanders, while 15% said they were backing Bloomberg and another 15% supported Biden.
Senator Elizabeth Warren and former mayor Pete Buttigieg were each supported by 10% of respondents. Another 4% said they would vote for Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota and 3% said they were supporting billionaire philanthropist Tom Steyer.
The poll showed Sanders’ lead over the rest of the field has grown in each of the last three weeks, hitting double digits for the first time in the latest survey.
He also has increased his share of support from African Americans in the latest poll. When asked which candidate they would support in their state’s nominating contest, 26% said they would vote for Sanders, up 7 points from a previous reading conducted Jan. 29-Feb. 19.
Another 23% said they would back Biden, down 10 points from the last survey, and 20% would support Bloomberg, a rise of 10 points.

Nailed it. Trump has made some inroads among those who realize that jobs are the only way to lifelong prosperity - but for all too many it's still "gimmedat."

Warren has given up and is all in for Bernie, hoping to be the VP pick.
Sanders is doing the mirror image of what Trump did in 2016.
Stick a fork in Slow Joe if he doesn’t win SC on Saturday. He can pack it in and go home.
Biden will be giving out 52” high wheelers soon.
I don’t put much trust in polls, however, if this is true, then Bernie just clinched the nomination. In S. Carolina over half the Democrats are black. Whites have fled the Democratic party in many cities and states leaving blacks in the majority among Dem voters, or else with a large plurality. Obama killed Hillary across the South due to the large percentage of black voters in the Dem primaries. Like I said, I’m skeptical of the poll but nobody will catch Bernie in the Dem primaries if he starts pulling in significant black support. .
It’s over for Biden.
I call the Democrat nomination for Bernie. There’s no one who can stop him now.
Democrats want to get it over with and are resigned to defeat in November.
Let’s hope that there are still more smart people than the gimmedats who are voting for Sanders.
Rats should have made him run third party. He’s dangerous because of the people who are voting for him.
