It's not a matter of if the novel coronavirus will spread throughout the United States, but when, said Centers for Disease Control and Prevention vaccine expert Nancy Messonnier.
"Disruption to everyday life might be severe," Messonnier, who is the director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, told reporters Tuesday.
Messonnier said she told her children over breakfast that they will need to begin preparing for an escalated outbreak. Parents and caregivers, she said, should ask officials at their children's schools about plans for school dismissals, closures, and teleschool in case the virus spreads in their school districts.
"I contacted my local school superintendent this morning with exactly those questions," Messonnier said. "All of these questions can help you be better prepared for what might happen."

John Bacholar has an interesting podcast. He has been talking about regicide in connection with the impeachment. Last week he talked about the Dems maybe taking the next step
I think her hands are tied on what she can explicitly say. fine line between overtly causing panic and giving prudent advice to public before it is too late (and we are close I assume) - but saying she is talking to her family about this is a very explicit veiled warning based on other very measured comments by her I have read.
I agree.
either that or she’s a nasty dem and wants to hurt DJT.
but I know the info coming out of Atl is ugly.
do you have a link to that podcast? I couldn’t find it..
What info coming from Atl?
the text in question was perfectly reasonable and read like other written statements by her.
“Kill coronavirus or use as a cocktail. Versatile!”
Yeah, you’ve got that right.
That’s what I thought when I read the entire text. This means there are 1000 cases in the US already - in 32 states - which means we well pass containing it.
What is your first language?
So does vinegar.
Many hospitals now use vinegar to disinfect surfaces.
Then there’s good old reliable Clorox.
Hi, newbie!
Newbies cannot convince us of anything.
Both of them are cut from the same cloth.
Many evil trolls are on this thread.
Maybe even a Russian bot or two.
Good list!
You made your mom-in-law go cold turkey at the rest home?
Yup. I remember polio as well. Most of my cousins living on the Texas Gulf Coast had it. I also remember houses with quarantine notices on them and I also remember that it was against the law to incite panic.
Flu season will taper off soon and so with cold season. Hmmm, both are related to covid-19.
Polio was terrible. I visited a kid in an iron lung.
I hope it backfires on the elitists in our government.
If age is a factor, we could be rid of Pelosi, Biden, Ginsberg, Biden, Schumer, Bloomberg, Pocahontas, Bill and Hillary...all in one fell swoop!
Great recipe!
I have a huge patch of lemon balm out back.
But it won’t be coming up until May.
Bingo!
