HANOI, Feb 25 (Reuters) - All 16 people in Vietnam infected with a new coronavirus have been cured, the health ministry said on Tuesday, adding that no new cases have been recorded since Feb. 13.
The last known patient, a 50-year-old man infected by his daughter who returned from China's central city of Wuhan, where the virus first emerged, has recovered and is in good condition, the ministry said in a statement.
It was not immediately clear when the last patient would be discharged from hospital.
The rest, including a three-month-old baby, are improving, the ministry added.

OR...cured, as in they were taken out and SHOT.
With a mortality rate of 2.1%, one would expect no deaths in 16 cases about 71% of the time, so if you believe the published mortality rates, this is plausible.
China has an older population, and most men are smokers, so the fatality rate among men over 60 in China may be quite high.
RE: The secrete meeting on the matter was/is supposed to have happened today in DC?
Is there a source for this piece of information? A link would be helpful.
Sure, this is Jonas Salk territory, if true.
Good question, one where only biblical history could be pointed to.
Read the historical records of King David.

You miss it?
RE: You miss it?
Yes. Could you give me the link? Or maybe provide the key words so I can search for it? Thanks.
Am sorry..it is a classified meeting..which IMO is nothing more than a secrete meeting.

Thanks.
Again how are the patients being identified as infected patients and then cured.
What type of tests are they running, and why don’t we have it?
Coronavirus testing looks for signs of a coronavirus infection in nasal secretions, blood, or other body fluids. Coronaviruses are types of viruses that infect the respiratory system.
There are a few ways that a lab may get a sample for testing.
* Swab test. A health care provider will use a special swab to take a sample from your nose or throat.
* Nasal aspirate. A health care provider will inject a saline solution into your nose, then remove the sample with gentle suction.
* Tracheal aspirate. A health care provider will put a thin, lighted tube called a bronchoscope down your mouth and into your lungs, where a sample will be collected.
* Sputum test. Sputum is a thick mucus that is coughed up from the lungs. You may be asked to cough up sputum into a special cup, or a special swab may be used to take a sample from your nose.
* Blood. A health care professional will take a blood sample from a vein in your arm.
All of the above are standard tests that trained physicians make.
2) Can a cured patient be re-infected? Or does the human immune system now gain enough knowledge to fight the virus invader on its own?
Which makes me wonder why Hawaii physicians are apparently incompetent and incapable of even standard testing for anyone in HI.

Like I said..it could well be a man made bug. And the reds let it get loose.
If so, we got a big problem.
best test so far is CT scan - glass lung present in over 95% of infected
If the reds were engineering a man made bio-weapon. Wouldnt it be prudent to think that they were using their population to test it? Making that population susceptible to it?
They wouldnt do that would they? HAH!
Bring Out Your Dead
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.
