B.C. government to provide update on COVID-19 virus (Latest patient, just arrived from ... IRAN !)

B.C.’s top doctor and health minister are set to provide an update on COVID-19 on Monday morning.

Six people have now fallen ill with the virus in B.C., five of whom had travelled to China and returned to the province. The first of those cases has since recovered.

The most recent case, announced Thursday, was a woman in her 30s who visited Iran, a country that is now seeing an outbreak of the virus with dozens of cases.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

Two days ago it was reported that a woman who had visited Qom in Iran was found to be infected by the CoV when she returned to Beirut, Lebanon. Now is it conceivable that two persons visiting Iran will be infected when they are reporting “dozens” of cases?

It is well past time for us to put a moratorium on all all flights, especially those from infected countries. Just stop them until this thing can be figured out.

Exception: Allow U.S. citizens back in. If there is any doubt, they should go straight to quarantine.

Exactly right.
What’s so hard about that for most people to figure out.
It’s basically bio-terrorism through negligence.
But what do decision makers fear most? Backlash after the fact when they can just throw their hands up and say “experts blah blah blah”, or backlash from donors and special interests who stand to lose a lot of revenue?

Maybe there is a lot going on behind the scenes that we don’t know about. But I’m not seeing any real focus on the part of the federal government.

The fed’s put out a statement a few days ago saying that incoming flyers were being screened for symptoms. How is that of any value when the incubation period for the virus can be up to 14 days?

Realize most of our elites are anti population.

They despise humanity.

They wail and moan about ‘climate crisis’ and ‘carbon footprint’. Of the rest of us mind you...our air conditioners will destroy the planet but their 20Ksqft homes and private jets are somehow exempt.

That segment of society has been absolutely LONGING for a pandemic for over a generation now.

I’m coming to the realization that fear of contagious illness is the most widespread and irrational fear in the Western world, bigger, even than extreme weather or cancer. The mullahs celebrated the 40th anniversary of the revolution and did not want the festivities disturbed by alarm about an epidemic. Definitely negligent!

A few months ago a mass death of birds was reported from the Caspian sea. None of the usual infectious agens were found, but could it have been a Corona virus? It is known to infect birds.

Given that we are dealing with two authoritarian regimes (to be kind) we do not have much reliable data. Is it impossible that the epidemic spread from Iran to China?

What we do know is that our international bodies (yes, UN...) and our politicians (most of them) are blind and deaf.

That’s a great point.
Even those who aren’t political or social elites and who don’t actively or consciously think culling of humanity is a good thing, you probably still have a lot of upper-crust in society who have a subconscious schadenfreude and probably feel that their money will protect them and don’t care if some of the dirty masses suffer.

I’m not going to lie, when I’ve been shopping or traveling in the big cities or stuck in traffic on 6 lanes of humanity, I can’t help wondering if there aren’t too many people everywhere. But I can’t bring myself to think about the effects of some of these diseases and the suffering and wish it on people. They suddenly become real individuals to me and not some sea of faceless numbers taking up space. Corona may not be as horrible as Ebola, but that’s still got to be a tough way to go... and it’s all so much more preventable if steps are taking to restrict travel and vet who is traveling.
