2020 Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden promised gun manufacturers across the United States that he’s “coming for them.”
“A guy has 12 assault weapons with bump stocks, which means you can fire it faster. You can pull the trigger faster,” Biden said to a crowd during a CNN town hall. “Why in God’s name should anyone, anyone, anyone, anyone be able to own that? It’s just wrong, and we’ve got to — and I promise you, as president, I am going to get these guys.”

The emphasis is mine. The very simple, very important answer to that Joe is that who is going to say a citizen is not able to own that particular firearm? The government? When the Bill of Rights was penned the Founding Fathers had just fought off a tyrannical government. They believed, correctly in my opinion, that the ability of the people to ensure their own freedom and safety was crucial. So crucial it is a fundamental right - one that shall not be infringed upon by any government, tyrannical or benevolent.
Joe, consider the implications of this right. No, not the reductio ad absurdum fallacious arguments about private citizens owning tanks, fighter planes, nuclear weapons. Technically we do. (*) I mean the real implications of this right and the responsibility it implies.
A person who is not a child or profoundly mentally or physically impaired must take responsibility for themselves. I realize the notions of personal responsibility and consequences causes an allergic reaction in leftists but these are very real concepts. If I'm responsible for my safety and the safety of my family and loved ones (and that's not really an "if" - I am) then no-one has the right to tell me what is "good enough" for me. No one can tell me one airbag is good enough, my car cannot have more. No one can tell me one smoke detector is enough, I cannot put more in my house. Ditto GFI circuits, baby gates, etc. Why should I accept the notion that someone can limit my means to protect myself and my family from harm.

I have tried to imagine just what a “Progressive gun ban/confiscation policy” would look like, and all I see is an incompetently managed, massively and widely resisted legal and ethical disaster if actually implemented.
Certainly, there would be draconian actions by the police state to carry out such an unconstitutional travesty, but I think we would also see nationwide civil unrest and disobedience, much like the Virginia protest, but on an unprecedented scale in most if not all of the states.
Imagine a 10 to 20 million citizen 2nd Amendment march on Washington, and also imagine the political hysteria that would consume leftist Democrat idiots like Biden, that found themselves under such a popular political siege. Would they call out the military, only to have them mutiny? If the idiot Progressive Democrat Left ever wanted to see a “Constitutional Crisis”, I think this would serve as one.
I just returned from Israel and have never seen so many fully automatic weapons being carried in public in my life and have never felt safer. It’s not about the objects but whose hands they are in.
My understanding is that he’s running in order to delay any investigations into his corruption.
