Man, you haven’t been on many roads out west (especially mountain) if you think that’s scary. Very mild, IMO.
Try the Million Dollar Highway from Durango to Ouray CO. Hair raising with my 150 and travel trailer in the rain. Never again. I had to stop at every lay by to calm my heart.
Drove Wolf Creek Pass in an RV. Hold my beer.
The mountainside roads on the Ring of Kerry in Ireland are plenty scary too, but few folks would dare to drive them aggressively.
While that is true, the speed is higher and the length of time is so long, longer than the time spent on legit scary mountain roads. So it takes its toll.
The Continental Divide road is pretty scary too.
My brakes went out while going up toward the peak, & the truck started rolling backward. To avoid going over the cliff, I cut the wheel sharp & aimed for the abutment that jutted upward on the other side of the road.
Banged up the truck, but it stopped! All survived.
