Every ethnic group has its share of bums. But Poles are third-world parasites? I think not.

Poles are 3rd world parasites?

If I recall all muslims are only about 10% pop of Uk and Europe in general .

What is our population of Hispanics? 30%

We are the ones being over run not Europe.

U.K., if you turn away the Poles. market forces will boost your labor costs way, way up to where your British boys will want to be ace plumbers and electricians again. But that's proper all right: that is exactly what market forces are supposed to do.

On the other hand, in a key moment of American civilization, the Polish and other Central Europeans turned the U.S. Upper Midwest/Great Lake states into the industrial powerhouse of the world. So U.K., if you don't want the Poles, we'll take some more. Poles and Coal. Maybe they can help us resurrect Buffalo, Toledo and Detroit.

As a proud Polish-American, how would you like it if I started making comments about “bog-trotting Irish,” FRiend Sheehan (an Irish surname, to be sure, and fairly common)?

Just a reality check here. No apology needed.

As a matter of fact, Polack though I may be, I always read a couple of books about Irish history around St. Paddy’s Day, particularly about the Famine and the Easter Rising.

"poles" ??.

Brits...certainly of my generation ...have great respect for the Poles.

Britain entered WW11 when Germany invaded Poland. The Poles were great and brave allies.

Poles aren’t parasites.

My grandmother came to the US in 1927. She never mastered English and partially forgot her Yiddish and Polish, so spoke a heavily accented hybrid English. But she loved America and married a man who came from Lithuania as a baby and spoke not a word of any language other than English. He became wealthy “by his bootstraps,” and his factory/warehouse/store on Broadway in Buffalo employed a couple hundred people. Was my grandmother a “third-world parasite”? She worked in a sweatshop and married well, and loved America, adopting American values and knowing how to live cheap from her years growing up in a shtetel hovel.

You may not want non-English speakers in the UK, but don’t go smearing a whole category of people. Those who come from the third world might or not speak English, but those who come to do honest work and who love their new country and support it are an asset. And generally, Poles, whether Jewish or gentile, have a good history as immigrants. They are not “parasites” imho.

Muzzies: many of those in the UK came from Turkey or Saudi Arabia, both allies of the USA during the cold war. First world, third world etc. Are cold war terminology, and by that the sauds and Turks are or rather were from first world countries.

2. Poles. Communist Poland was a Soviet vassal, so second world.

3. Third world were non aligned countries, so included Switzerland and Sweden..

When you say "Poles", do you mean the Polish.?
I've known some poles here in the US (not a lot) and they always seem to be wonderful folks... Great sense of humor and hard workers...
