Bloomberg paying hundreds of people to promote him on social media, report says

Mike Bloomberg's presidential campaign is reportedly hiring hundreds of people in California to post on their personal social media accounts and send text messages to contacts in support of the Democratic presidential candidate. More than 500 deputy field organizers will get paid $2,500 a month to promote Bloomberg in weekly text messages and daily social media posts.

The effort, which could cost the campaign millions of dollars, is focused on California's primary on March 3, but could expand nationwide.

The Bloomberg campaign says deputy field organizers are sharing their own content, not ads, and that there are no requirements around how frequently they post to social media accounts.

"We are meeting voters everywhere on any platform that they consume their news," said campaign spokeswoman Sabrina Singh. "One of the most effective ways of reaching voters is by activating their friends and network to encourage them to support Mike for president."

It's unclear if messages from the campaign's digital organizers would need to be labeled as ads or sponsored content under Facebook's rules.

How to get under his skin:

Bloomberg's obvious Achilles heal is that he is a real life "Mary Poppins" without the ability to levitate via an umbrella. What distinguishes him from other totalitarians is the obsession with imposing "Nanny State" behavioral values on the rest of us. We should focus on his lack of proportional judgment by referring to him as a "Mary Poppins" without the "teaspoon of sugar."

Try it.

The Bloomberg campaign says deputy field organizers are sharing their own content, not ads, and that there are no requirements around how frequently they post to social media accounts.

IF Bloomberg's campaign told them how often to post - OR what to post - they would be 'employees' rather than independent contractors.

The difference? You have to pay taxes on employees... this way the young people get their surprise when taxes come due on the money.

I don’t think Mary Poppins resonates will with the under age 35 crowd.

I wonder how much of this is circular? You could end up paying 50 people to text 49 other people and everyone receives 49 texts and gets paid instead of 2,500 receiving texts.

Wait until the Russians find out. They have been known to hire out troll factories . They are probably licking their chops thinking about a Bloomberg nomination.

The technique is to persist in an analogy long enough to get under the opponent's skin, leading to an angry reaction. The technique works. Bloomberg really is the epitome of the “Nanny State.” That really is his Achilles heal.

And now, everyone getting them in CA is gonna wonder if the sender is on the take. Those senders will be as liked as Amway rep’s were.

I can’t watch a YouTube video without first being held hostage to a Bloomberg campaign propaganda commercial.
