The Republican Party did not respond positively to Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.) waging a primary challenge against Sen. Kelly Laoeffler (R-Ga.), who was appointed to the seat by Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) last December and has to defend it in a special election in November. Now, the National Republican Campaign Committee, the Senate GOP's campaign arm, has formally asked vendors to stop working for Collins and against Loeffler, and multiple vendors have quit the Colllins campaign, Politico reported Wednesday.
Collins took the defections in stride. "Instead of a bunch of suits like the cast of Law & Order" working for the campaign, his spokesman told Politico, Collins will run with a "colorful cast of characters who all have an aversion to authority."
Loeffler certainly has powerful friends in her bid to fend off Collins' right-flank challenge. The Club for Growth has put $3 million into TV and digital ads targeting Collins most recently as a fiscal spendthrift. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, a prominent Georgia Republican, endorsed Loeffler on Tuesday, calling her "exactly the type of political outsider we need in Washington" and a "strong supporter of President Trump."
The big endorsement is Trump's, though, and so far he has remained neutral. Last week, Trump appeared to offer a compromise between Loeffler, whose appointment he opposed, and Collins, who he called "an unbelievable friend of mine and spokesman and somebody that I really like." Trump told Loeffler at a White House ceremony that she's "going to end up liking [Collins] a lot," adding, "Something's going to happen that's going to be very good. I don't know; I haven't figured it out yet." Both campaigns told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution they viewed that as supportive from Trump.

That is, the people themselves SHALL NOT be involved in choosing their own representative to the Senate. The candidates shall be chosen ahead of time by the oligarchs, or appointed, and once appointed - protected.
We've seen this time and time again. We have to deal with the insufferable Lisa Murkowski, for example, due to this same "protect the appointed incumbent" crap.
And once safely elected, watch Kelly Loeffler repay her benefactors with votes according to their wishes.
If Cocaine Mitch wants Loeffler, Collins has to play ball. Or see the seat go to a Democrat.
From what I know of judges, I won't be throwing confetti in the air until I know how they hand down decisions.
Hopefully, the citizens of Georgia will ignore the Swamp apparatus.
COLLINS HAS EARNED THE RIGHT TO RUN AND GET SUPPORT OF GOP.
HE HAS STOOD UP, AND NEEDS TO BE REWARDED. WE NEED FIGHTERS.
BZZZZT. That right there ^^^ oughta be the first thing that anyone who votes in Georgia needs to know.
So Kemp sold Session's Senate seat? It seems like there was a governor in Illinois went to prison for doing the same with Obama's seat.
GOPe wanted Loeffler and that’s who they got it sucks but I think Collins should stay in the House he’s doing great work there. We cannot have another Jones.
RINOS here in Alabama are doing the same to Tommy Tuberville.
I should have read your post first. Now that I have I feel differently. I would love to see Collins in the Senate. Is Georgia a runoff state?
I love Doug. He is a terrific warrior for Trump, but he needs to step back on this one. First of all he is needed in the house, second he needs to work on getting Mitches endorsement. If he is smart (and he is) he will go talk to Mitch and tell him he will wait if, when the time come, he can get Mitchs backing.
Only Bush League Republican Amnesty Senators allowed.
She'll probably lose and if she squeaks out a victory (maybe on Trump's coat tails) I can easily see her being one term. That said, I don't know if I'll support Collins instead.
Don't underestimate the preacher. He'll be a firebrand on the campaign trail and as you aptly say she comes off like a POW reading propaganda. She's a mess.

Exactly. My feeling is he’s needed in the house too. I’m annoyed Kemp chose Laoeffler who comes across as completely insincere.
Jeff Sessions is in Alabama. Kemp sold Isaksons seat.
“Don’t underestimate the preacher.”
We very nearly lost the Georgia Governor race to that idiot woman. So you are right take him very seriously.
It the shallow end of the swamp.
It’S the shallow end of the swamp.
