Michael Bloomberg Has An Achilles Heel And It Is Not Guns Or Age But China

News that billionaire businessman Michael Bloomberg is considering a run for the presidency is no surprise. He has toyed with the idea in the past, most notably during the 2008 cycle. As potential presidential timber, he ticks most of the boxes. Having served for twelve years as New York mayor, he knows something about politics. He left office moreover with an enhanced reputation for can-do pragmatism and general low-key likability.

That said, his record is less than perfect. He strongly backed the Iraq war in 2003, for instance, and the following year he endorsed the now toxic George W. Bush for president.

For better or worse moreover his staunch advocacy of gun controls will prove a net liability in a general election. He would look more credible too if he were younger: he will be 74 next month, which means that on inauguration day he will be more than four years older than Ronald Reagan's record as the oldest first-term president ever sworn into office. That said, he seems to be in good health and he probably wouldn't take on such an arduous challenge if he wasn't.

This brings us to his real vulnerability: China. As a true Wall Streeter, he has not only outspokenly championed free trade with China but has turned a blind eye to Chinese protectionism and currency rigging.

Old article but tells a lot about Michael Bloomberg. Bloomberg was in support for most of the things that have caused American workers great harm. Thankfully, President Trump is trying to fix these problems.

Another quote from the article:

“In probably his most extensive statement of his attitude to China, Bloomberg contended in the Financial Times in 2007 that the jobs China takes from the United States are jobs that America would lose to foreign competition anyway.”

Like all Republicans. And no Democrats.

It’s a fake legacy news media thing...

“the now toxic George W. Bush for president.”

Read something months ago how he had made his billions by working with the Chinese to manipulate there currency against the dollar.

It was NOT this article. So, the word is out and you know that OUR president knows about it.

Also a possibility that he is running so he can declare ”immunity as a candidate”!

I can’t think of another reason he completely sold out to the Chinese.

Bloomberg = Another Demo candidate desperately trying to protect their personal wealth or freedom (in the case of Biden).

The phrase “that said” is overused and annoying. It’s a pretentious replacement for the word “but”.

And yet some of those jobs are returning.

Go figure...

I hear Bloomberg is job hunting. Sorry, we're hiring American.

China has carefully pandered to Wall Street CEO'S for decades, using them to lobby congress on their behalf....and they have indeed done just that under all the former Presidents successfully...until Trump.

Bloombergs of the wishful thinking generations that believes China's a friend or partner..which DC has been well ‘trained’ to think likewise......failing miserably to see the truth that China role plays this benevolent, humble actor when in fact they just want to hamstring anyone they can to get what they want from the US...either by walking in the front door or stealing out the back.......and as much to take this country down from being the super power we are.....

Trump has an absolute understanding of what and who China is , their deceptive practices and their diabolical plans for the US.... And China knows full well he knows.....They have screwed this country, and any others they rob and steal from with their double talk. And they'll do anything to see anyone but Trump as President......preferably Biden or Blooomberg.

Keep in mind under Biden as VP look at the bases China built along the South China sea and neither he nor Obama did a dang thing!...Under Bloomberg he'll look the other way as well....

Mark Levi’s said that Bloomy is heavily invested in China. Probably has taken it in the shorts thanks to Trump’s hard line on China.

I see Hillary’s plot now. Become Bloomberg’s Vice President, then get him impeached by turning China stuff over on him. Then assuming the Presidency. It could happen.

Most of these leftist scum billionaires have made their billions with the help of China and at the detriment of America as a whole.

I know! A lot of us feel a bit sour about GW, but I would not say that he’s toxic. He was a great President right after 9/11, remember him throwing out the first pitch at a Yankees game, I think it was? I still have my Newsweek where the cover shows him standing on top of a pile of rubble, speaking into a bullhorn.

He inspired at first and he clearly had a deep affection for the troops. There was that one beautiful photo where he is hugging a little girl who had lost her father in the war. I don’t know where it is or how to post it but it was lovely and very touching.
