Seven hundred kids. Thats how many students would have lost their scholarshipsand a chance at a better lifeif Fifth Third Bank hadnt come to its senses.
Instead, after a week of uncertainty, the company sat down with Florida parents and pastors and decided not to listen to Floridas cultural bullies. Its one thing for a company to support LGBT extremism. Its quite another, the bank agreed, to hurt needy children in the process.
Most kids had already left school for the weekend when they got the good news: One of the biggest contributors to the Florida voucher program wasnt dropping out after all.
Fifth Third Bankwhod joined Wells Fargo in abandoning the scholarshipshad gotten an earful from the local community. And, after a few days of protests, rallies, and nonstop phone calls, the business finally relented: Its $5.4 million investment in school choice for the state would go onregardless of what the Orlando Sentinel and a handful of liberal lawmakers think.
It was a major reversal for the bank, who threw the program into complete chaos earlier in the monthall because parents had the option of using those scholarships for religious schools, who (not surprisingly) have religious beliefs.
Democratic state Reps. Anna Eskamani and Carlos Guillermo Smith apparently object to that and have been harassing corporate donors to drop their contributions over those schools biblical views on marriage and sexuality.
Local parents, pastors, and politicians were furiousincluding a good number of their Democratic colleagues. Members like state Reps. James Bush III and Al Jacquet couldnt believe their party would actually use children as pawns to appease the LGBT Left.
We have children that need these opportunities, Bush said. When theres a chance for parents to have a choice that will help their kids, we should afford them that opportunity.

PING!
Ummm wow. Simple sense is surprising.
What will Wells Fargo do? Step up also, or slink away like the POS crooked institution they are?
Wow !!
Simply wow !!!
Thank you Fifth Third Bank.
The message is stand up to bullies.
Decisions have consequences, and people are waking up and saying we want a choice in the Education of our children, not indoctrination!
I am no fan of the Edutocracy that is in place as part of the machine to deprive us of foundation skills not cucumbers and condoms for 2nd graders!
So, Wells Fargo is at the plate, time to put your chips on the table and tell all who need to know which side you are on
If Wells Fargo caves, I’m pull my $1.4mm out and back to PNC Bank.
How people forget that simple message. My wife were talking about this just the other day. Society used to be much politer because there was always the possibility of getting punched on the nose if you crossed that line. And everyone around would nod their heads saying, "Yep, saw that coming."
Democratic state Reps. Anna Eskamani and Carlos Guillermo Smith apparently object to that and have been harassing corporate donors to drop their contributions over those schools biblical views on marriage and sexuality.
See my tag line.
L
Wells Fargo is a part of a larger Banking Cartel member, I left them long ago and they are terrible in so many respects and record keeping is abysmal.
Proceed at your own risk and do your research, I am sure you will
Communist and cowardly state Reps. Anna Eskamani and Carlos Guillermo Smith apparently object to biblical views on marriage and sexuality.
They've already caved, they just haven't uncaved yet.
My bad; I meant UNcave, then I won’t go back to PNC.
