Pete Buttigieg isnt going to win You may as well start on his political obituary once youve finished with Joe Bidens

[Cut]
As Joe Biden once said of his old (but then-future) boss B. Obama, the 38-year-old former Mayor of South Bend is bright, articulate, and cleans up well. But the idea an idea that is assiduously circulated by his supporters that he is moderate is ridiculous. In fact, those scrambling for the perfect political epitaph for PB might consider moderate in scare quotes.
Remember, Mayor Peter is the openly gay son of the editor and translator of Antonio Gramscis Prison Notebooks. Gramscis important contribution to the literature of totalitarian tyranny was his idea that Communist dictatorship could only come to free countries by means of a long march through the institutions, cultural as well as political. The left has pretty well accomplished this with respect to the universities and the elite cultural institutions of the media and the so-called arts community. Mayor Pete wants to finish the job through such expedients as packing the Supreme Court with six more seats, abolishing the electoral college (its undemocratic, he says), disarming the populace (a precaution tyrants always take), providing a glide path for the government takeover of healthcare, opening up the borders, and forcing taxpayers to foot the bill for college, even for illegal immigrants, whom he also wants to offer amnesty. Its a start, Comrade.
The truth is, Buttigieg is about as moderate as Bernie Sanders. He comes off as more reasonable than Bernie because he has a more soothing demeanor. (And he comes off as more reasonable than Elizabeth Warren because he does not sound like a screeching harridan whose hectoring voice is like a witchs nails drawn across a blackboard.) He quotes and misquotes scripture. He sounds reasonable, so long as you ponder the timber of his voice and dont ponder the substance of what he says.
But at the end of the day, this Ivy- and Oxbridge-educated progressive veteran is a Gramscian radical. He is there with with Ralph make-em-comfortable Northam on abortion, though he has gotten pretty deft at avoiding the issue. Abortion, in fact, seems to be the one issue on which he wants the government to stay out of our lives. About everything else, its all government all the time.
Mayor Pete will have a scintillating couple of months while the media pretends that he might possibly win the nomination. But he cant, and that will become obvious, I predict, shortly after Super Tuesday. I am really not sure who would have the best chance against Donald Trump in November. I am confident, though, that the sacrificial lamb will not be Mayor Pete Buttigieg.
I guess that any ads that mention bath houses or syphilis would be *really* “homophobic”.
There is no moderate D in the race. Even Biden is not a moderate. Hes just not as nuts as the rest of the clown car.. so he looks moderate only when compared to the radicals. But he is not a moderate.
Buttgig’s win in Iowa makes him a gay Howard Dean.
Hes very articulate and well groomed by the CIA but theres two things that make him on electable
The first is that hes a white male
The second is that hes a white male
the gay thing actually give him kudos in the Democratic Party
The problem when you get to the general election however is that there are many people in this country and especially minorities that are not ready for a flamboyant gay guy as the commander in chief
Obama had a the White-Guilt vote. Buttgig doesn’t.
That's very much the issue - Butti would make a terrible Presidential candidate due to age alone, much less track record or his sexuality, (the latter being a plus in the more progressive circles in the party but not in the public at large.) He'd make an ideal Vice Presidential candidate, though, but not if it costs him any chance of leveraging that into a Presidential candidacy later when he's made his bones in D.C. If he manages to garner enough delegates in the convention he can horse trade for that sort of promise even if the Dems lose in 2020, especially if he hands those delegates to the Clinton team for their own power brokerage at the convention. If he has the money to continue, he will.
I will never say that about any candidate. Remember, Trump wasn't supposed to win.
Obama didn’t run on free college for all including illegals, i’m going to take your guns away, gov healthcare for all, open border anarchy, infanticide, etc.
Anyone who is deft is probably hiding something.
Joe hasn’t “gone there” yet, but he’s a nasty old perv himself & as he gets more desperate, like the cornered Rat he is, I’d put nothing past him. Mayor Pete is likely to get bloodied up by Uncle Joe & likely Uncle Bernie too (politically, of course - not advocating violence) before it’s all said & done.
Finally, someone called him by his real name, Peter.
That should be done all the time by everyone.
Because, Peter is ready!
“But who’s going to get the Dem nomination?”
My prediction is no one - on the first ballot at the DNC.
Then all Holy Hell will break loose.
I agree... He won’t beat Trump, but I can believe the idiot Democrats would pick him. They don’t have many options
I agree. the Mayor is dangerous.
The media love him, he is one of them: Marxist, queer, and phony. What could possible go wrong?
“There isn’t a Democrat Politician alive who wouldn’t relish loading all us Deplorable types into Cattle Cars destined for Reeducation Camps, not one”.
In my opinion those Cattle Cars wouldn’t be headed to Reeducation Camps, they would be headed to the Gas Chambers and Crematoriums.
The Democrats don’t want us Reeducated——They want us DEAD.
Can’t believe I’m saying this, but right now I think Hillary has a better chance in 2020 than the rest of them, and she’d still lose. They’re all leaning progressive socialism, and she’s just an opportunistic corruptocrat; most Dems will be satisfied with that.
But they are in a real pickle because Buttigieg will likely get blown out in SC and just about every other red Southern state. My money is still on Bernie getting the nod. Especially if he plays the long game and settles for #2 in most states. He may well end up with the most delegates by convention time.
Remember how he hung tough against Hillary in 2016 almost to the very end?
“... a Proud Homosexual with a First Gentlemen?”
For some reason I initially read that as “Fist Gentleman,” and that answers the question.
