What he’s referring to is his position as being among the ‘big tent’ republicans. This was Reagans idea to broaden the platform of the GOP to attract people who would otherwise vote for democrats. Reagan was not himself a democrat but he welcomed these people into the party. Romney, Mccain, the Bushes... all are ‘big tent’ republicans.
My point is that President Trump is not a ‘big tent’ republican. He observes that the ‘big tent’ republicans are stealth democrats. These CryptoDemocrats like murkowski and collins wield their ‘moderate’ status around for power. But President Trump knows how that works. He’s actually Run a company and knows those low life suckups for what they are. DEMOCRATS. These are the ones that are responsible for turning the republican party into the washington generals to the democrats harlem globetrotters. As much as I loved and admired the man, sadly this is a part of the ‘Reagan’ legacy too.
Now, the democrats and the big tent republicans like Kristol are angry at President Trump AND the people who support him for breaking their wheel. Because now suddenly the harlem globetrotters are no longer playing the washington generals designated Losers. Now the harlem globetrotters are spinning the ball on their fingers and showing off trying their trick shots and stunts against the chicago bulls or the LA Lakers. They’re being skunked and they’re angry about it. This is a part of the reagan legacy that needed to be retired. Who else is sick of ‘reagan democrats’ parading around declaring their allegance to the democrats. I know i am. Let them choose a side or shut up.
I think that probably the most important thing that President Trump has done is to expose these people and drive them to highlight themselves. He forced them to make the choice that they have avoided by wearing a ‘moderate’ tag over their head. We should think about this when we’re voting.
