Details? I'm not finding much except orf8 29 nucleotide deletion makes the virus less robust, or at least it did with SARS back when that hit; however, since at the time SARS was new to humans, it didn't make much difference since there were no other viruses competing for the same niche.

Also I saw an article header which seemed to hint that mutations in orf8 would lead to greater resistance to UV light by the virus; but when I followed the link I couldn't find anything like that.

Any details you can give will be welcome...
