Tax returns are supposed to be private. That applys to all citizens. I am of the opinion that any Congressional request for records regarding a US citizens tax returns, should provide the opportunity for the target of the request to benefit from due process.

I suppose it all depends on what type of info is requested. The article mentions suspicious activity reports.

Didn’t they also request travel records from the Secret Service recently?

The FBI should do the same.

Treasury COMPLIES. Can you even remotely envision similar cooperation from the DOJ, FBI or State Department?

It’s not about tax returns. It’s about laundering and that $10,000 trigger.

Ashley Schapitl, a spokeswoman for Wyden, spoke of a blatant Trump double standard, and that agencies like
the Treasury Dept are rapidly complying with Senate Republican requests— saying "no subpoenas necessary"......

Ashley, do me a favor.....why dont you go perform an anatomical impossibility with yourself.

As I understand it the request was for info on Hunter Biden’s travel on Air Force 2 while daddy was V.P. Secret Service is under treasury and would have that info.

Two interesting paragraphs:

“Fact-checkers have debunked claims that Biden was acting with his son’s interest in mind. The former vice president has denied wrongdoing, and there’s no evidence that either Biden engaged in any criminal wrongdoing. “

“”For its part, the Trump administration refused to comply with all Democratic requests for documents and witnesses associated with impeachment. Applying a blatant double standard, “

I suppose it all depends on what type of info is requested.

I believe it depends on who scrubbed what.

It's been awhile since Hunter Biden questions have been asked so there has been plenty of time to 'lose' documents.

I won't be surprised if the documents exonerate him.

Past is prologue.

That's just the cynic in me.

Does anyone know what the current status of Biden family and Ukrainian related fraud investigations going on in Europe:

Britain - money-laundering
Ukraine - influence peddling, fraud, money-laundering
France - money-laundering, fraud and more.

Talking to a retired fraud investigator who said it is possible they are slow-walking their work until they see if Biden becomes the Democratic presidential nominee. Afraid that if becomes president it would cause serious problems with their nation’s relationship if he were elected. I assume from our conversation that if Biden does not get the nomination they will go for the jugular. IMO

From the article:

They then request any "suspicious activity reports" and related documents that have been filed in regard to Hunter Biden, the son of former Vice President Joe Biden, and Burisma Holdings, the Ukraine gas company that Hunter Biden worked at.

They checked to see if any suspicious activity reports had been made, and lo! and behold, there were some.

The oversite laws require Executive Branch departments to provide documents to the Congress when there is no assertion of any privilege. If Hunter were the President the request would have been refused based on executive privilege. Of course, Weyden and his staff know this and are just trying to run interference for the inevitable day of reckoning that is approaching on the Biden’s crimes.
