Folks, Mitt did this. Mitt. Not his niece and not Mitch. There is no reasoning with, or effective threatening of, someone who is so sanctimonious that he believes he is doing God's work.
I agree. Sanctimonious is the word of the day. Mitch flat said no one knew. If he told any of his colleagues it would have certainly been leaked.

Ronna McDaniel, the chair of the Republican National Committee and Sen. Mitt Romney’s niece, split with her uncle Wednesday after he announced he would vote to convict President Trump on one article of impeachment.
“This is not the first time I have disagreed with Mitt, and I imagine it will not be the last. The bottom line is President Trump did nothing wrong, and the Republican Party is more united than ever behind him,” she tweeted.
“I, along with the @GOP, stand with President Trump.”

This isn’t a farm bill being debated. The GOP Senate did not fully support President Trump against this Stalinist assault. One of their caucus will vote to REMOVE GOP President Trump. Romney is THEIR problem. They need to cut the cancer out of their body. No one else can do their job for them.
