There are currently 19,843 confirmed cases worldwide, including 426 fatalities
I believe the fatality rate should be the ratio of people that died today compared to the number of confirmed cases x number of days ago. The x number of days is the average duration of illness - onset to death. Estimates are anywhere from 6-14 days.

Anyone notice how close these numbers follow prousts chart, but one day behind. If true, the cases are probably closer to 24000, and tomorrow the prediction is 733...
Thanks for posting. Agenda free interpretation. What do they say about the last 5, 10, 15, 20 years? Who let the germs out in those previous years?

The problem with the monte-Carlo model is that it didnt have enough data. If they were to re-run it every day the cone of uncertainty would narrow significantly.
Thought Id take a shot and order some masks several days ago. It went through but was canceled today. Check out the wording: We apologize deeply for the inconvenience, but due to an extremely high volume of recent orders related to the coronavirus outbreak, the pandemic supplies in your recent order are no longer available.
Since the CDC used the p-word this morning, its in everyones vocabulary now.
check your local wally world for gloves - ours was almost empty on Sunday.
{already have ours - just checking to see when the panic will start}
Chinese men are known to be heavy smokers. I would think that these men are more susceptible to getting sick. I quit smoking because of the horrible bronchitis I would get each winter.

KEY POINTS
About 25% of them have very serious disease, requiring relatively intensive or really intensive care, NIHs Dr. Anthony Fauci told CNBC on Monday.
Chinas National Health Commission said the confirmed coronavirus cases in China increased to 17,205. The death toll rose to 361 there.
There are probably a lot more people who were infected in China who have not been really counted, Fauci said. The number is probably much larger...
I placed an order last Wednesday for one of our sons (who thinks I’m being silly). I finally was notified that it has shipped, so I’m thinking he will actually get the masks. They aren’t rated but it’s something.
Pinging proust to post his chart.
Thanks.
Try a hot toddy.
The Hot Toddy guy in Wuhan claims it cured him of this virus that he got two months ago.
My bkmk for today!
Thanks for posting that link....
CNBC will have a Corona Virus Special, tonight, at 7pE
I don’t know that I trust anything NBC, but, I do plan to watch the special.
I quit 3 and a half years ago. This virus does a number on your lungs. A smoker is probably a goner.
Comment: This is not enough.
Fearing coronavirus, Princeton U. orders 100 students to self-isolate after China trips
Updated 5:44 PM; Today 2:29 PM
Princeton University has ordered students, faculty and staff who recently traveled to China to self-isolate as the coronavirus outbreak continues to spread worldwide.
More than 100 students including undergraduate and graduate students are in self-isolation, according to Michael Hotchkiss, deputy university spokesperson. They must confine themselves for 14 days following their last visit to mainland China....
Saw one article that said the Xray looked like shards of glass in the lungs. Seems like I remember they said it was scarred afterward but dont remember. Seems likely, though.
Thanks!
Btw, the Princeton article above... the students werent sought out, they responded to a call to register themselves.
