I have been expecting a retirement announcement any time. I mean, he is 69 years old, has plenty of money... I figured he'd announce his intention to get through "one more" election season. What better day to announce it than the day of the first votes?
Right up until he said "cancer", I was prepared.... then THAT word. I'm still shocked. This is NOT the way this story is supposed to end.
Rush Limbaugh is an Icon, a rebel, and an industry leader who forever changed the world.
CNBC recently composed a list of the Top 25 such people during their first 25 years on the air. The fact that they left Rush OFF this list made the entire list meaningless.
Who else has changed the world of politics, or the business of broadcasting more? No one... it's not even close.
God Speed Rush. No matter the outcome, this will be a difficult journey. Just know that we are ALL here with you, for every step. We will be praying for God's will and comfort for you, Kathryn, and all of your family.
Wonderful post, Tim. You experienced it as I did.
You just stated everything I was thinking and how devastating and heartbreaking this news truly is. There will never be anyone like Rush Limbaugh. There is no one who even comes close. I am trying to pray and stay positive for him, but I am so worried about what it would be like if he was gone. No matter what the idiot leftists are trying to get away with, I can always count on Rush to make me feel better about it. I can’t think of anyone else who does that. I just wish he could be on the air forever.
