Oh, most cant be tested for..but there are some that can. And even if you have the genetic predispostion such as BRCA issue..doesn’t mean you will get cancer.

I say frequently..know your body and your symptoms....and don’t be afraid to order your own lab tests from places like Direct Labs if you can’t get a Dr to do it.

I ordered a woman’s work up and found something that I had never been told I had. I don’t think it is often tested. It could explain some things that I had always attributed to thalessemia.

Know your baselines so that you know when your levels are out of whack for you.

Agree! I made excuses for my symptoms. But, even still it was not caught until it was out of control. But, this is the case for anyone with AML. We all have the same story. It brews in the bone marrow. So it won’t show till it moves to the peripheral blood to show on the blood tests. Then it’s bad. Real bad. So, there’s just no way to know.

Once it’s in the peripheral blood, most have only 2-3 weeks to live.
