I posted on another thread that if Rush has small cell carcinoma prognosis is not good.... It’s what got my dad, and it is directly related to smoking.

Prayers for Rush and his wife.

Same here. We had a top surgeon in the hospital where I worked. He quit his job as soon as the diagnosis was confirmed (brain cancer) and he was dead 6 months later.

My mom died of cancer.Started in the lung (she was a serious smoker) and then it spread to her brain and liver.Lung cancer tends to metastasize...that's where the real danger is.

On my end, FR has slowed to a crawl since the Limbaugh announcement. I take that as a tribute.

As an adult, there are days you know will come.

Saying good-bye to President Reagan was tough. First he left the White House. Then we heard of his diagnosis. And then the end.

We stand here in a time when just ahead will come years when we no long have Rush, the Donald, the guiding lights that keep this nation on the right track.

I think we take men like these for granted. We live in decent times and forget or simply don’t realize how important they are to those times taking place and continuing.

There is one thing that is vitally important right now. When there is a successor to Trump, it has to be as close to the original as it can be.

If Don Jr. has the executive experience to support it, I want him to be the 2024 candidate. And having said that, I want him working as a apprentice with his dad. I already know he has the same ability to run the press ragged. He just needs to be coached how to deal with being president, and who better than his dad to do that coaching.

I know some folks like Ivanak, but I do not see her as a well versed Conservative. I’ll leave it at that.

Folks, a day is coming when Rush won’t be here any longer.

Over the years I haven’t listened every day. In recent months I have begun to listen more regularly. It wasn’t that I didn’t like him, it was just that with FR and other places, it almost became overload.

None the less, there is going to be a massive void on that day when the microphone sits there without the Doctor of Democracy emoting comments that we will find informative and reaffirming.

One of the hardest things about growing older is the amazing people you lose as time moves along.

There’s no one like Rush out there > IMO.

I wish him every possible good break in his fight.

I hope that God finds it favorable to retain him here for years to come.

How long can you live with advanced lung cancer?
A five-year lung cancer survival rate measures how many people are living five years after they were diagnosed with lung cancer. The five-year relative survival rate for stage 4 lung cancer is 4.7 percent. However, relative survival rates don’t take into account recent improvements in treatment.Mar 22, 2019

I remember when Peter Jennings came on and announced he had lung cancer, I believe he was gone within a year after that.

So yes, I hope treatment has improved since then.

Hate to post this, but these are the survival rates for lung cancer and they are not all that good. Hopefully it is an early stage and not the small cell type but listening to him talking it does not seem like it:

Survival Rates by Stages
Some doctors rely on a more detailed prognostic tool based on a staging system called tumor, nodes, and metastasis (TNM). These survival rates are the actual percentage of a sampling of people who were diagnosed with either NSCLC or SCLC and who were alive at 2 years and at 5 years.

Stage IA1: 97% (2 years); 90% (5 years)
Stage IA2: 94%; 85%
Stage IA3: 92%; 80%
Stage IB: 89%; 73%
Stage IIA: 82%; 65%
Stage IIB: 76%; 56%
Stage IIIA: 65%; 41%
Stage IIIB: 47%; 24%
Stage IIIC: 30%; 12%

The over all survival rate for all types of lung cancer at 5 years is:
Stage IVA: 23%; 10%
Stage IVB: 10%; 0%

Usually, when someone says he or she has, “advanced lung cancer,” how much longer do you the person lives? I had an aunt who learned that she had lung cancer that was caused by exposure to asbestos. She died about 2.5 months later.
