My husband of 49 years was just diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer in October. He just finished 35 targeted radiation treatments and six chemos. He is doing amazingly well. Goes for new scan on the 11th. Praying the tumor has shrunk. If all is well with the scan hell get immunotherapy infusions every two weeks for one year. Its an awful disease. They have come a long way. Keytruda has been successful with stage 4 five year survival rate. I refuse to give up hope. They are making great strides in immunotherapy LC treatment.
Best wishes to your husband on his health. My uncle was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer nearly 20 years ago. He had a large piece of lung removed and underwent some additional treatments. He had another 15 years of good quality of life in which he enjoyed his children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Ultimately he succumbed to cancer when it re-emerged in his bones. We were grateful that he had the gift of more time with family and that when his time came, it was fast. Medicine has come a long way. He is not the only person I’ve known who had a lengthy reprieve after a lung cancer diagnosis. Prayers for your family.
Prayers for your DH...and, for you! For his continued healing and successful treatment. And, for strength and wisdom for you, his journey warrior.
