A group of moderates, including Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine), Mitt Romney (R-Utah), Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), met with McConnell Friday afternoon to hash out strategy to end the trial.
In response to the concerns of moderates who want to follow the model of the 1999 Clinton impeachment trial, which set up 25 hours of closed-door deliberations, Senate GOP leaders floated the idea of having time for deliberations starting Monday. But under one proposal senators would have gotten 10 minutes each to speak on the articles of impeachment against Trump.

Trump was talking about the Swamp already during the election. One reason we voted for him is because he shared with us our mistrust of the bureaucracy.
It's not a novel idea. Clinton "cleaned house" when he assumed office. As did Obama. Notice I did not mention GWB, unfortunately. That's why they continually makes gains while we, at best, tread water until the next Dem wave.
OK, if he didn't know from Day 1, we're no longer at Day 1. We are three years in now! And given what's transpired the past three years, he definitely knows now, doesn't he?

When will he say "You're fired!" to the hundreds of Obama moles still burrowed in the Executive Branch who are sabotaging him (and us!) every single day?

That’s is correct he cannot simply postpone because It’s by invitation to the house. If he postpones Pelosi will not issue an invitation and no Network coverage in a different venue. You may think so what but the SOTU is a pretty big deal to a POTUS and he wants prime time coverage.

I am thinking that Trump doesn’t want to make anymore waves until this impeachment is OVER!!! If he can’t fire them he can certainly move them to VERY UNFAVORABLE positions!!! One of them resigned today can’t remember the name but the name was Ukrainian!!!
McConnell said issue was with Collins that she wanted it like Clinton impeachment where Senators would have time to talk on the floor.
WTF, she was voting no anyways. I suspect Murkowski said she would vote yes if they gave into Collins.
Once again between those two and the DEMS, the DEMS get their way.

Where are you getting that? The President has the duty to report on the state of the union. He cold put it in writing and not even give a speech. It has nothing to do with being “invited”. That is nothing but a tradition. The President could also simply give the address from the oval office and at a time totally decided by him.
