This is a political trial not a criminal one. Worst that happens is an official is removed from office.

No President has ever been removed through impeachment.

While understanding what you're saying, I rather think that given the inherent pomposity of 98% of Senators, many would subconsciously resent a fire/brimstone 'sermon'.
