Juries dont try to remake prosecutors failed cases.
What kind of BS is this? A quid pro quo for witnesses? The Republicans control the Senate, so there is NO negotiations needed. They will set the rules, period. This idea is being floated by the Democrats as a last ditch effort to string out the trial until November. Don’t be stupid and give in to it.
NO.
the book is now evidence in a public trial and in the hands of the NSC. Post a .pdf copy. The publisher can sue Bolton and the NY Times for lost revenue.
No tid for tat. We didn’t get that in the house. We should get 17 witnesses to their one based on their standards. And if the witnesses don’t show up then they get none. When will the Republicans play hard ball??
“But I am starting to want to see what Bolton says under oath. He is leaking everything in his book.He cant do much more damage than what is going to come out in the book. Get him under oath to see what he says.”
Don’t fall for it! Bolton is not leaking his book, the Deep State (Vindman) is. And NO ONE knows for sure what Bolton wrote.
Ok, but before we have one witness, can we get the manuscript released? I mean, rather than relying on a leakers version of what is in it, lets see it.
I know poor John Warmonger will lose book sales, but that is what happens when you dont think things through.
Waste of time. The Republicans either hold the line on the DNC BS or they lose key votes and will get zero from the Rats.
Thankfully we have Cocaine Mitch who should be able to master all of it.
Here’s what I sent to his office...
Grow a spine and shut this politically motivated impeachment down. Tell the Dems that Hillary lost and to grow up. Come to Central PA and talk to the republicans that elect you. You’ll see a tidal wave of anger growing against Congress, the weak Republican response and you in particular. Or, you can try to curry favor with CNN and MSNBC as a “reasonable moderate”. Don’t come crying when they turn against you too someday.
That was the first battle the Dems won. Wow! the Pubbies will now give a full trial to this sickness every time Dems ask for it.
Now, as the newsies (including Fox) hammer 'witnesses' and 'Bolton' - with some lame excuse about getting to the truth - the Pubs are about to agree that 'intent' is action and Trump must 'prove' his innocence.
Anyone suggesting that we should 'hear' from anybody else is in on the coup.
If the Senate isn't willing to give him full authority to defend himself, they should end the trial now.
Bush League Republicans searching for some way to help the Democrites.
The saddest part of this Toomey surrender is that he OBVIOUSLY hasn’t heard a word of the Trump Legal Team’s argument from Saturday or Monday. The House DOES NOT HAVE A CASE! There actually are no grounds for even continuing the faux procedings. Their grounds are GROUNDLESS! Their Articles do not meet Constitutional minimums....and yet Toomey wants to concede points to the dissembling, nefarious Managers. He WANTS to bend over and spread ‘em! What does that say about his soul?!
One of the big problems with calling witnesses at this stage, is that it may take a few weeks to pin down the lies that are told. Meanwhile the consequences of the lies on the trial will be completed.
The scary thing is that sooner or later the Dems will figure this out and run another stealth-faux-fake-phony “moderate” like Conor Lamb or Bob Casey (I am Pro Life...no, I am. Just like my daddy, I am, I AM! Really, I am!) against him, clean his clock and flip another seat to D.
Very good point.
Toomey has his knickers in a twist because Trump came along monkeywrenched globalist free trade. Toomey has been all about that for his entire adult lifetime.
The 17th. Amendment put us at the mercy of this country’s 100 biggest egomaniacs.
This tells me the GOP Senate are almost certainly going to vote for Bolton as witness. This is a CYA face saving measure from the do-nothing GOP Senate. IMO, POTUS should wash his hands. Force the GOP to vote for Bolton and then take it to the courts on executive privilege. Leave the Senate hanging in the wind while that is sorted out.
TYPICAL Pennsylvania Republiturd-—
Why couldn’t this tool be more like Lou Barletta??
Toomey is a total embarrassment
