Senate Impeachment Trial LIVE - day 2
By reruns, I mean running old episodes. They also do this on holidays sometimes. It enables young/new fans to discover long ago history. For example I never knew that Nikky Newman had killed her drunken father even though I have followed this soap for about 15 years. They ran an episode where she was in jail and having flashbacks to all the important episodes in her life.
Actually, I heard the defense didn’t want a Friday, Saturday, Monday time slot. They thought it better for TV to have a Saturday, Monday and Tuesday lineup. Better optics. Better TV coverage. Just what I heard.
Aw... come on goldstategop, have a little mercy on the Rats. Its not easy to construct a crime, bogus as it is, by back fitting cherry-picked complaints from deep-staters and naive testimony from a moron EU ambasador into what will be seen, by those that matter, as nothinig more than a gimcrack frame- up. /sarc
Today on my local news channel, the Dems ran an ad that said = Tell the Senators to Let Bolton Testify or something like that.
They are prepared, I’ll say that for them...making it look like the Repubs are blocking the one thing that will make all the difference - Bolton being allowed to testify!!!!!
lodi90 is back!
You still haven't answered my question from yesterday regarding the game we were playing...
lodi90 is Senate majority leader for the impeachment trial. What would you specifically do that is legal, within the US Constitution, and is significantly different from the approach of the current Senate majority leader?
We're still awaiting your response...
What do you mean?
So when will it be trump’s turn for heavens sake!!

Exactly right.
Saturday.
Lodi, are you a Dem plant? You’re negative all the time and discourage people here from supporting GOPers.
They’re not perfect (and some are very bad) but most of them want to be reelected and most of them know which side their bread is buttered on. Encourage, don’t shoot down.
Remember, it’s a numbers game. If we had elected a GOP House, none of this would be happening.
IT’S EFFIN infuriating that these clowns were given SO MUCH TIME!!! Effers weren’t so accommodating to the Republicans in the house! Why are we always the one playing by the rules! What part of THIS is war don’t they don’t unstand .. for gosh sakes! Without the Republican base McConnell and he rest of the heels would be big fat zero!
LOL. You ask such an easy question. The garbage from the House should have been dismissed by the Senate without a trial.
Then Senate hearings scheduled to gather facts on the coupist hoaxblower op. Witnesses to include the IC IG, Hoaxblower, Biden Jr., etc.
This isn’t difficult. The only reason the GOP Senate is making it difficult is because they have not supported POTUS against the coup the past 3 years and don’t plan on starting now.
LOL - sorry but you made me laugh!!!! Thanks for the chuckle.
McConnell and the rest of the "heels" are the same ones who have appointed a record number of judges to the Federal and Appellate courts, along with two Supreme Court justices.
No complaints allowed, unless you have a better idea.
We seek to play honorably and fair because that entails moral character. Yes, we hit hard when we fight - but don't seek to cheat like the Demon-rats.
If this was a commerical TV program it would have been cancelled the first day
Oh, really? So the Senate should just ignore the US Constitution and its role in impeachment trials? Just pretend like it doesn't exist?
How do you think the American voters would respond to that?
Hope you don't plan on running for public office.
In politics (outside of official capacities), not only can one get away with libel, slander, hearsay, bearing false witness and a myriad array of other techniques, but these are standard electoral tactics & practices. However, problems arise when one attempts to apply standard legal procedures with respect to evidence, witnesses, due process, etc.
So, using this frame of reference, why would the Senate explore a set of purely partisan, political procedures with respect to creating the initial impeachment false narratives, constructing the hoaxblower complaint/testimony, and the involvement of other associated parties? It has absolutely no legal bearing on anything; every elected official knows the game, how it's played, and what is personally at stake. If you don't like it, don't run for office.
I fully expect the Senate to vote for dismissal after the first procedural steps are completed. Doing so will confirm - and establish a lasting precedent - that any future House attempts to impeach on purely partisan political grounds without criminal foundation will fail. But to get to that stage, certain elementary procedural steps need to first fully play out.
As to your other point, since this impeachment is lacking any criminal element and is entirely political, it really has nothing to do whatsoever with ongoing criminal investigations of events that took place **outside** of the political spectrum. I'm referring of course to the deep state coup attempt that is most certainly subject to the legal domain.
Got a great Email today from the White House (they send out emails regularly)....
First - the White House cited just a few of Schitt’s lies from today:
Schiff claims that President Trump endorsed the theory that Russia did not interfere in the 2016 election. FACT: President Trump has publicly said, very clearly, that he accepts the conclusion of the intelligence community that Russia interfered in 2016.
Schiff says that President Trump withheld an Oval Office meeting from President Zelenskyy. FACT: President Trump invited President Zelenskyy to the White Housewith no preconditionson THREE occasions: April 21, May 29, and July 25. They met at the first opportunity, at the UN General Assembly.
Schiff once again brought up claims of a quid pro quo. FACT: Notice whats not in Democrats articles of impeachment? Allegations or accusations of a quid pro quo. They couldnt include that claimbecause no such arrangement existed.
Then the email gave a link to hear Our magnificent President’s speech at Davos (In case you missed all the MSM’s coverage of it - /s)_
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytYygV347sc
Now Schitt back to quid pro quo
