Over the last one hundred years, the British Royal Family has generously provided the world with a parade of scandals more colorful and louder than the socks they wear with their kilts. But the Meghan and Harry rupture is fundamentally different from any previous crisis to befall the British monarchy. Prior to now, royal scandals have been cut from the same petticoats as any other public ignominies — i.e., the chin-wagging that follows uncovering some form of immoral conduct. All the throngs of poorly hidden mistresses, caddish boyfriends, toe-sucking on yachts, assignations in the deer park while the horses wait patiently, even consorting with extremes of evildoing, such as found in the company of the late J. Epstein, arose from ordinary human weakness set against an extraordinary backdrop. They have constituted straightforward disgraces that can unfold only among people with a shared religious heritage and moral code.
Those days are gone.
The roadside bomb in the royal family named Meghan Markle exploded not because of immoral conduct in the conventional sense. Meghan Markle's psychology is affected by well managed narcissistic rage. Narcissists seek power in relationships as a substitute for the terrifying experience of offering self-sacrificing love. Markle has two sources of power over the royal family and the millions of people who love them.

There are credible theories that Edward was forced out because of his own fascination with Hitler, shared by his mistress. Neither the rest of the Royal Family nor the political establishment wanted England to go Nazi; so they made him an offer he couldn't refuse, with "the woman he loved" as the convenient cover story. And the two of them lived unhappily ever after; but not nearly as unhappily as Western Civ would have lived, had UK teamed with the Third Reich.
It chaps my arse that she also blames sexism in the face of Harry's grandmother, one of the topmost influential women in the world for more than six decades. Elizabeth does it with such grace that Meghan doesn't seem to have noticed.

And Kate, and her sister and mother. Slimed for years until Meghan came along and made the Brit commentariat grateful for what they have in Kate and family.

This is a common perception of what narcissism is, just another way of saying ‘inflated ego’.
True narcissists however, suffer from an UNDERabundance of self esteem, which is the root of their toxicity.
Now that they are not officially ‘royal’, perhaps they should not get protection. However, Harry’s foolishness does not negate the fact that he is the son of a future King of England and the brother of another future King of England. Meghan, not so much. I see no reason why she needs publicly financed protection.
But, then there is little Archie. He does need protection as he is a perfect target for kidnapping. Poor little guy. He’s very cute. His papa and Mama have separated him from his heritage as a royal, his great grandparents, his grandfathers, his uncles, aunts and cousins.
Yes, Archie is a real ‘poor little rich boy’ who has done nothing wrong, yet because of his parents, his future is in doubt.
