And everything you say, possibly. I think.
The bigger travesty is that I had to look up ND on the map.
I thought it was in the Midwest!
Anyone ever been there? Is it nice?
It’s right up against the Canadian border. Basically Canada South.
I’m from there. It IS in the midwest.
Summer is beautiful in ND.
If it reaches the high 70s it really hot for them.
In the 80s and it’s thought there is a national heat wave and they’re all going to die.
Winter is what...7 months of the year.
Okay. I exaggerated a bit. It’s only a solid 6 months.
It does FEEL like 7 months because of the runoff from the melting snow!
They are currently trying different crops to keep up with weather changes.
Oh. They’d LOVE to get rid of their current refugees. Problem is, no one will take them.
Have a very close friend up there. Thankfully, we communicate daily. When I’m whining about it being in the 40s or 50s here in Texas she’ll send me pictures of her area with the snow and ice and the minus temperatures. LOL
Why not Minot? Little Chicago during prohibition. Al Capone loved it because it was so close to Canada and perfect for smuggling booze. I was there for about ten days a few years ago during the summer and had a nice time. I did notice the outlets at the hotel parking spots so you could plug your car in during the winter so it would start in the morning. That tells you how cold it gets. I also loved the story of the reform judge who said he was going to shut down Capone and Little Chicago and stop all the alcohol smuggling. He had a sink in his courtroom where he made a big show of dumping all the confiscated booze. Only thing was it ran down a pipe to the basement where it was collected and served in the hotel across the street. That about sums up modern American politics for me.
Is it nice? Hehe.
As I type this it is 3 below in Fargo ND, gusts to 5 mph.
Yeah, nice!
