Fentanyl, a highly addictive synthetic drug primarily manufactured and shipped from China, is now blamed for nearly half of all overdose deaths in the United States. Mexican criminal groups like the Sinaloa cartel and the Cartel Jalisco New Generation are now heavily involved in smuggling the drug into the United States, according to experts.

Border Wall and immigration crackdowns are starting to limit the human trafficking profit center of the cartels business plans. Adapting will push more drugs at ports of entry and in between.
Trump/RNC has huge dollars for this campaign. Should be emphasizing the Border Wall and immigration changes. Easy contrast makes issue highlightable and continuous to November.
Well, on the bright side, maybe the Cartel folks will use the guns on each other, south of the border, and the druggies north of the border will overdose fatally and thereby both societies will be improved in the long run
Im actually shocked carfentanil hasnt been used in a terrorist attack, its lethal in such tiny amounts and seems to be readily available.
Would be nice if these things can self fix themselves.
Isn’t Kelly Ann Conway involved with opioid addiction prevention programs. Maybe Ivanka too. Kimberly Guilfoyle is heading up a Trump/RNC super-pac now. Hopefully the three of them can highlight this issue and the border connection.
A lot of the “forgotten’s” lost employment in the rust belt and elsewhere in flyover country. Trump’s populist conservatism, trade wins, and immigration reduction has to be a help to these folks.
Up to the well paid elites to translate this to votes, and earn their easy money.
Why didn’t you post the entire article headline? John Rob removed the 100 character limit on headlines some time ago.
Drugs and trafficked people are the assets for the cartels. Who helps them in the transport?
One is colonias (illegal alien squatter villages) spread across the border on our side. Per capita income abysmal, high crime makes them highly probable of maintaining stash houses to help move their cargo onto highways and interstates, operating as willing hubs in a criminal enterprise.
Don’t hear anyone talking about this yet. Seems only a Michelle Malkin will break the racist shield.
Now that the border is finally addressed in a serious substantial fashion, this is actually great for private business and real GDP increases.
Not much of this money is swallowed up by bureaucracy and their high salaries and benefits. The money spent here can actually be a positive force multiplier.
Steel industry loves the specialized long lasting Kortan and galvanized zinc product in the bollards. The high tech used by the military and DHS contractors.
This is still peanuts compared to the blown 800 billion stimulus from Obama to the regulators in 2009.
That is the libertarian view of this dynamic.
Does it fit in a majority of cases. Take West Virginia. Before shale natural gas lowered the boom on coal, the RATS were trying to shut down their industry. Then Biden says no problem, learn to code. In a depression you experiment and made a bad choice with these highly addictive opioids.
Many people recover from a temporary route into meth, fentanyl. Do the ones that have something to offer need these drugs to do them in.
I got the gist of the article
from the posted headline. I
would imagine you did also.
Aside from that, how do you
feel about drugs and guns that
traverse our southern border?
Since, over 28,000 US citizens
a year die from overdose. 20,000
Mexican citizens are killed via
firearms. Build the wall!
Here in Maryland, people overdose a lot ( some couples five times). Medical Techs carry the restorative pens to bring them back. Why is anyones guess
Dont give up on these people. Many can give up their habit and go on to live productive lives. Been to church lately? You may see a lot of them there. And they arent pompous assholes.
I will always spot them two overdose events. After that if they are so determined to kill them selves let them go. As an aside, some of the worst people I ever met, I met in church.
As a FReeper since 2009, you should know it’s a FR no-no to change the article headline. Messes up searches.
I agree 100%: Build The Wall!!
Bidreadin, sadly, I know what you say is true. There are still a lot of good people out there so dont give up on Gods children too easily. The opioid problem is engineered by a combination of greed and a purposeful effort to destroy a generation. We have traitors inside our gates and enemies outside.
Think Hunger Games.
INTRACTABLE PAIN PATIENTS who are liberal and don’t look past a few smears, lies, and lib articles are blaming Trump, that is about 50 million who might will vote for who ever promises but does not keep promises DEMS will return their FORCED TAPPERS might reach 400,000 or more votes.
I am an Intractable Pain Patients who took the time to dig all this started under NAFTA & OBAMACARE. CHINA trade deal made it worse. M. E.. more so. Tell me why the CIA has our Troops guarding Poppy fields? STILL RUNNING D0PE LIKE THEY DID DURING VIETNAM OUT OF LAOS?
WE now have a SUPER HEROIN that is Narcan resistant.
Bigger issue is it is hurting Rare Disease patients, war wounded who will never be out of pain, car wrecks, falls, cancer. Surgery patients. Disabled. CDC LIED PAIN PATIENTS DIED.
