The only adjective in the western nickname “Dead Eye Dick” that was meaningful was “Dead”. . .

I figured if that were true all of us ‘raised’ in the40s/50s would meet at the ‘clubhouse/tree/lawn’ and plan a variety show or just go through life ‘breaking into song’ on a whim.
Still ‘see’ Andy Rooney and girl friend of the flick saying ‘Lets put on a show’..
Of course, Blazing Saddles put it all in the proper perspective when it came to musicals (in fact a few times)
