Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) on Friday defended her decision not to pay dues to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), saying she would instead seek to funnel money directly to Democrats in tough races.
Asked by The Hill if she intended to pay dues to the House Democratic campaign arm this cycle, Ocasio-Cortez replied, "I don't think so."
Ocasio-Cortez, whose unexpected win in a 2018 primary against longtime incumbent Rep. Joseph Crowley (D-N.Y.) propelled her to political stardom in progressive circles, has emerged as one of the Democratic Party’s most prolific fundraisers in the House.
In the third quarter of 2019, she raised more money than any other House Democrat, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.). Her most recent federal filing shows that she raked in more than $1.4 million between July 1 and Sept. 30.
Ocasio-Cortez has spoken critically of the DCCC in the past, particularly after it began sidelining vendors who work with candidates seeking to challenge incumbent Democrats in primaries.

I was only hoping this was something of fact so I could use it as something truthful. I’m sure she’s gotten her share of extra dough by now.
Rush was talking about it today.
I would ask what kind of whack-a-doodles would voluntarily send money to someone like her. Then I was speaking to a close friends’ 30-something kids recently.
These normally rational kids (at least I thought so) moved from supporting Crazy Bernie to Poca-honkey this year, mainly due to the fact that Warren seems to be giving away better goodies than Sanders. They were speaking in glowing terms about what the Senator from Massachusetts was planning to “give them” as President. Never mind how or where the money would come from and who would ultimately pay for it (their 3-year old son?)
So, she’s a selfish thief. We knew that.
This blends in with Rush’s monologue about AOC raising her own funds and is using it to “primary” old Democrapt stalwarts like Pelosi and her old ilk.

I don’t think they can stop her if she’s registered Democrat....remember Democrats refusing to seat black delegates back in the day? Now they could endorse another candidate even in the General Election (recall Adlai Stevenson refusing to run with a LaRouche supporter?)
I was unaware that Democrat House members were expected to pay dues to the DCCC. Now the DCCC supports candidates. I suppose House members in “safe” seats get very little if any of the money (even though they paid their dues), while those in competitive races, as well as Democrat challengers in competitive races, get much greater support.
AOC’s seat is safe Democrat. But I can understand that she wants all that money for her own self.
Whores do not part easily from ill-gotten gains.
If she does not pay the fig then the party will allow her to be arrested and imprison and not be protected.
It has been done to democrats and republican members before.
The mob does not like independents.
