They are walking away with about 58 million Canadian dollars. The didn't really need any job. Now they can just relax and enjoy their lives.

Unfortunately, the job they are going to get is trading on their celebrity in some gaudy reality TV like scheme. The royal family does need to be retired but I suspect that the way Harry and Meghan are going to do it is not going to be the most dignified way.

Harry does not need to show the Royals anything -— Prince Edward (Elizabeth II’s youngest son) and his wife and family left the “royal” life years ago. Both he and his wife work (the theater business I believe) and have been paying their own way for quite some time.
