Iran is refusing to hand over the black box of the crashed Ukraine International Airlines flight PS752 to Boeing, the head of Tehrans civil aviation organisation was quoted as saying on Wednesday.
Ali Abedzadeh also said it was not clear which country Iran would send the box to so that its data could be analysed, semi-official Mehr news agency reported.
Ukraine's Tehran embassy initially blamed engine failure but later removed the statement.

Why should they? The manufacturer often has representatives on site as a crash to assist, but neither Boeing or Airbus or any other aircraft manufacturer has the power to demand the black boxes. They don't belong to the manufacturer. They go to the local authorities.
The Iranians could contract CrowdStrike for a thorough coverup.
It’s 3 and a half years old.
The article says Ukrainian Airlines has suspended flights to Tehran now. Dang it how am i gonna get to my winter vacation hotspot now?! I know there are so many disappointed tourists like me. Maybe Air North Korea is still flying in.
Got dang it!
And I had just won a fabulous trip to Iran on my TPIR showcase showdown!
Iran thought it was a warplane coming after them and shot it down?
What?
Another 737 crashed in a Third World Muslim country?
Guilty!
Boeing is guilty!
The trigger-happy, panicked Iranians shot it down thinking it was an American warplane.
That’s not suspicious......
IOW, Iran shot them down. By accident or not.
Be it would show they shot it down.
Looks like the plane touched down in the worst possible place.
All i see is concrete ledges and rows of concrete walls......and no plane.
Giant blood splatter against one of the walls.
Prayers for the victims..
Once the Uke airline releases the passenger manifest it might turn up a wanted somebody Iran didn’t like.
Bump.
