the problem I see with that is that each time the USA has armed different folks to fight against their governments, it turns around and bites the USA in the ass.
Right now the Ayatollahs have done a wonderful job of making Iranians hate Islam. The mosques are empty, people are taking to nationalism (and to be fair, with 2500 years of history - or 4000 if you count the Elamites, the Iranians have a deep hsitory) and many are converting to Christianity or secretly to Zoroastrianism, and many more are athiests.

Agree & well said. Makes one wonder what makes believers adhere to the koranic battle plan against non-believers. As an imaginary scenario, IF Islam was to have world domination the next purity battle would be eliminate all sects within Islam. Additionally, since muslims are largely superstitious of events are the earthquakes in Iran, allah’s will?
