People get scared in combat, and the Iranian SAM guys had to be completely puckered. Still are.

Motive other than accidental?Accident is very plausible.
On that particular night, thousands of Iranian soldiers, mostly young, were manning air defenses which must have been spun uo to the highest level imaginable.
Would YOU want to fly out of Teheran that night?
