That airliner hit by a Russian missile over Ukraine came down in little pieces. This one looks nothing like that situation.
Just because that plane broke up doesn’t mean this one did. The anti-aircraft missiles detonate near the plane. They don’t hit them directly.
Missile hit doesn’t have to disintegrate the aircraft. All it has to to is hit something vital for control or lift. Not hard to do. Most every structural component, surface, or system on a plane is critical for flight, otherwise it wouldn’t be there.
That one was at 35,000 ft @ 500 mph. This one was at 8.000 feet @ 275 mph.... and the “little pieces” of the Malaysian 777 didn’t happen until it augerer into the ground and exploded.
There is appears to be a military base with helicopter landing pads about 1 mile north of the last transmission.
