Well I could be wrong as well. It could have been shot down accidentally or even on purpose but why would the Iranians do that if they could have taken the plane while it was on the ground.

Well, I'm guessing at best. Hell of a coincidence if nothing else. BUT, we often give too much credit for the organization and intention of other organized militaries. If it was shot down, it was likely an accident perpetrated by some scared trigger happy turd soldier that was on guard for a potential USA retaliation. I agree, I don't see Iran intentionally downing an airplane originating from it's own space unless they thought there was a way to make it look like an American retaliation.

I am going with an accident for now.

Yup. Gotta be an accident. At least it wasn’t intentionally shot down to make it look like the U.S. did anything nefarious.

That airliner hit by a Russian missile over Ukraine came down in little pieces. This one looks nothing like that situation.
