Iran cannot take us on. They know they would be crushed in an afternoon. But some folks (not you) are bloodthirsty and filled with revenge as if they are from the region.

All true but Iran in Lebanon, Iraq, S Arabia, Yemen, Syria, and a lot of other places, is acting well outside the rope barrier. I think the point of their face saving retaliation may be that we get to avoid a war, they get to continue wreaking havoc. That includes nuclear weapons, destroying Israel, terrorist attacks, etc.
